Britney 'ecstatic' over baby

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have announced that the family is healthy and happy and that the birth went well.

The pair issued a statement saying: "We are ecstatic to announce the birth of our son! Everyone is happy, healthy and doing wonderful. Thank you all for your love and well wishes."

The baby, whose name is reportedly Preston Michael Spears Federline, came into the world at around 9 p.m. GMT by Caearean section at UCLA Medical Centre in Santa Monica, California.
