It was reported on gmtv that britney has had her baby.

He was born at 1pm yesterday by c-section. No name has been given yet.

Britney Spears is getting her first taste of motherhood after reportedly giving birth to a baby boy.

The singer underwent a caesarean at Santa Monica's UCLA Medical Centre, near Los Angeles, according to the magazine US Weekly and television show Access Hollywood.

Britney, 23, and her husband Kevin Federline announced the pregnancy in April.

Reports suggest that they will call the baby either London Preston or Preston Michael. Her top name for a girl was Addison Shye.

It is the first child for Britney, while Kevin, 27, has two young children - Kori, three, and one-year-old Kaleb - with ex-girlfriend, Shar Jackson.

Last month, the singer revealed: "I have a feeling I'm going to have an operation. I don't know why but I hope so.

"My mum said giving birth was the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life. So if a caesarian doesn't happen, I'll be like, 'Epidural, please'."

The Toxic star, who has sold more than 60 million albums, has made no secret of her wish to start a family and has said she can see herself as a mother.

Shortly after tying the knot in a private ceremony last September, she announced she would be taking a break from music to enjoy married life and focus on motherhood.

"I've had a career since I was 16, have travelled around the world and back and even kissed Madonna," she wrote on her website. "The only thing I haven't done so far is experience the closest thing to God and that's having a baby. I can't wait."

Congrats to them both (although I do hope she didn't have a c-sect because she didn't want to go through natural labour, espec 4 weeks early - sorry, not being horrible but not a fan of people who feel they are "too posh to push" as my hubby put it! :D )

apparentley she thought she was too posh too push,i dont understand why they make themselves go through it though,un-nessersarily(sp?) it is major surgery! plus you get a scar for your efforts but i suppose the rich and famous just have them removed and a bit of lypo inb the process too

Wait for photos of her in 6 weeks, with her flat stomach etc, just to make us feel self conscious :D
