Sorry to Everyone who is reading this twice but I posted it in the worng place "Thick as Mince"
Producers and scriptwriters believe that certain characters are losing zest and feel as if that they have ran their course and / or have not appealed to the viewers. Ruth Rossi, Arun Shah & Alice Henderson are to be axed.
Due to recent storylines, Ruth Rossi has mental problem that takes control of her mind and forces her to take drastic actions. Over the past few years, Ruth has pushed her own mother (Gina Rossi) down the stairs, abused her flatmate Scott Wallace, threatened /abused her former boyfriend (P.C Harry Black) to stay with her, taking her sister (Joanne Rossi) to court in order to take her son away from her. Obviously, it hasn’t been a fantastic time for anyone. Ruth will stay in Sheildinch with her new husband until the producers create a suitable storyline for her to leave.
Morag Calder says, “Wow! It’s been a great ride, so great that I never wanted it to end. But in a way, I am glad that Ruth is going, she’s needs a place to rest and take a break. I will absolutely miss everyone, especially Libby (Gina) she’s been like a mother to me!”
Ruth’s final scenes will be aired at the end of the year.
Arun Shah has not appeal to viewers as his tough bad-boy act is told to look ‘fairly cheesey’
His character was not needed; the writers brought him in to protect his older sister, Alisha Shah. But viewers feel as if he’s not doing that, instead he’s making her life more miserable.
Ricky Dillion says, “Ah well! What can I say? I’m gutted! I wanted to stay a bit longer to develop my character even more, to show the real Arun!”
Arun’s exit is to be extremely explosive and will cause major implications with the Tall Ship. These scenes are to be filmed in a month’s time.
Last but not least, Alice Henderson. Alice is an alcoholic whose drinking problem has controlled her. Recently her former lover Graeme MacDonald aka Mac had taken a shine to Zoe McMullan. Zoe’s feelings were mutual and when they both got together and left, Alice thought revenge is a dish best served cold. By downloading child porn onto Mac’s laptop, she was ready for him to go down for her pain. However, she knew her actions were wrong and confessed to her sins. Alice awaits patiently for her trial.
Lorraine McIntosh says, “I knew it was time. I could see it a mile away! Alice is strong, whatever happens to her, I’m sure she’ll be fine. I’m going to miss everyone, and yes, that includes Gordon (Mac) ha-ha!”
Alice exit is not being told as it’s suppose to be a surprise for the viewers.
Also from yesterday's Scottish Daily Mirror "Ruth's husband Marty is real "he will make an appearence at the end of the month. He will be played by "Daniel Scutzman" who was the Italian Stallion Sal in Footballers Wives.
