Default gateway offline?

I am trying to log into MSN but I get told it is haveingtrouble and then it tells me my default gateway is offline. What is this and how can I fix it so I can log in.

P.S I have also been getting amessage when I am entering my Ip address and subnet into my computer I get told the combination of my Ip address and subnet mask is invalid, why?

did this start today.. if it did a few peoples msns havent been working very well (including mine) i think its a hotmail/msn default.. just keep trying and if it still dont work then i dont know soz

Mine has been playing up for a bit, unable to connect etc etc - even when i reverted back to 7.0 it didn't make a difference. I've just kept on trying and eventually managed to get on :searchme:

I it tells me my default gateway is offline


This sometimes works for me;
go into internet explorer, or whatever you use.
Go to file, click "work offline"
Then go back to file, and click "work offline" again
Then try logging in again
