A character in a book and lisa marie presely (sp) mum wanted me called lisa marie but with a difference so when in hospital she was reading a book and it had the name Hazel in it. Mum somehow figured if she turned that round she would get Lezah and anthoer spelling of Lisa

I was named after a song by an Irish Singer (Josef Locke), which was called "I'll take you home again Kathleen"
The song was a hit in the 1940's and my mum was a big fan of the singer.

i was going to be called aarron of i was a boy i think that is because i was born in 1977 the year elvis died and that was his middle name.

i was named Roderick after my dad but he died when i was two so i got my name changed to derek cause it sounds better

I don't think I was named after anyone. My sister was going to be called Emma, but my great nan put her foot down and said on no accounts were we to be named Emma, Emily or Emillia! (It was her name, and she hated it).

I would've been called Adam if I was a boy... o_O

I was going to be call Elizabeth because I was concieved on the queens coronation, But mum put her foot down and said no. was called Hazella, cos of my hazel eyes, and my auntie is called ella, so Hazella

I was going to be called elizabeth too but only because the preist refused to baptise me Lezah - he said it was not a catholic name and essentially ment elizabeth - but my gran wore him down and he ended up doing it lol

i like it too, one of my friends has just had a baby called libby and it is not short for anyting i think it is really nice!!

i urm wasn't named after anything/one i don't think. Urm in Greece helena (e-lane-a) is quit a popular name, and my dad liked it, but he wanted it to be Helena (hel-ane-a) instead, but then he was being difficult and decided to put a y in it couz he felt like it and wanted me to be different so i ened up getting called 'Heleyna' (hel-a-na)
i just get called layne couz its my nickname and i love it!! x

I was born two months premature and weighed the eqivilent of a bag of sugar. I was never expected to survive, and my parents didn't have any names ready so when I did survive they decided to name me after the midwife.

My Dad walked passed Abbey National, on his way to the hospital to visit us, and decided he liked the name Abbey, so called me it! Then they saw a woman on a quiz show called it, when i was brought home, so they figured it isn't such a strange name if she has it.

My middle name was my mums best friends name. She died a few weeks before i was born from a brain tumour.
