A woman who auditioned for The X Factor is claiming that Simon Cowell drove her to a nervous breakdown.

Pam Edwards became the latest victim of television's Mr Nasty after singing a duet with Total Eclipse bandmate Fiona Griffiths.

Cowell told Fiona that she looked like Little Britain's Vicky Pollard, and informed Pam, "You look like a stretched version of her."

Following the disastrous audition, Pam was admitted to a psychiatric unit with severe depression, staying for four weeks.

"Simon thought he was being funny, but he absolutely destroyed me," Pam told The Mirror. "I don't know how he sleeps at night."

She added, "I felt humiliated."

If you can't take the critics why go on a show like this, To say she had a nervous break down, due to his comments is just silly. She must have been unwell before she went on the show. I was always told sticks and stones......I work as a night club bouncer and if I let every nasty comment that is said to me, get to me, I would be in hospital all the time.

Even if we were thinking it, its not something that you say! Its out of order of him. He shouldn't have done it, and he should have said sorry if he really felt he had to!

We all know that Simon is like that- so she must have knew that he was going to say something- but than i never saw it......

She did look a bit like Vicky Pollard but I don't think Simon should have upset her that much.

yeah i agree, that has nothign to do with her singing. its like Lowie the other day said something like 'that was awful... and the one on the left is an idiot!'

they do it just for a laugh, to entertain people but it can actaully hurt people and put them down. :mad:

They do all know what they are going in for but they expect him to make nasty comments on there singing not something so personal like that

it was a bit mean..but to say you had a nervous breakdown due to one comment!!
didd'nt they have her on gmtv and gave her a make over and got her to sing??

i never saw that it was harsh what simon said but he tells the truth.
