Found this on a forum, sounds like a newspaper report, but cant find the source:

Flagging BBC soap, EastEnders, is set for a major overhaul by the show's bosses in an attempt to reverse its fortunes.

The show has continued to lose viewers in the past 12 months at an alarming rate, allowing both of rival ITV's soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street to steal away the limelight.

But an Albert Square insider told the Star that the show's chiefs are not prepared to let this trend continue, without at least putting up a fight for the ratings.

And the mole revealed that the tactics most likely to be employed will be wholesale, and in some cases, shocking, personnel changes.

"There is no crisis," they insisted. "But even we have to admit that the programme is in the dumps and some vital members of the cast will soon be departing never to return."

The tabloid continues to quote a whole series of possible introductions the insider suggested could appear on our screens.

They include the introduction of another family from hell, with the insider convinced that the slightly exhausted and ineffective tactic would prove a hit.

"This family will explode on to the scene, racking up tensions whenever they appear," they said.

Other suggestions include the arrival of a shady escort agency, masked as a model agency and fronted by an alluring new female star.

A rival pub to the Queen Vic has also been mooted, as has the introduction of a fierce, ex-army officer clergyman.

"There is a picture of a vicar who comes to the church in later life, having seen action in the Army," the mole added.

"In other words, he'd be a man of God with a real iron fist and wouldn't shrink from physical action."

However, EastEnders' decline has been so severe that scriptwriters are expected to go all out for a major storyline to clear the decks, so expect serious catastrophes to befall the residents of Walford in due course.

As ive said on my Mitchell Mania site i can see two Family Affairs actors fitting these roles well

David Ester (Pete) as the clergyman

Rosie Rowell (Eileen) as the agency leader

both have left the show now and could easily take up these roles

All About Eastenders, by the looks of it is a fairly new site, but as i say the layout and wording of the report looks like a newspaper article, but dont know from which newspaper

They said almost the exact same for the Millers that they'd cause trouble nad caios around the square. i think its sfae to say we can admitt that the millers have shaken the square up a bit. I mean loud larey family, teenager twins stealing form eveyrone, playing tricks on people, teenage pregnancy, drug over does. running away a death, keith not being able to read and wright, settign fire to not one but two things in the square and gettign on the wrong side of everyone.

What more can a new family offer. what more caios can be caused.... i mena now we've seen a softer side to the millers. Demi wiht her baby and dealing with a death. Rosie very emotional scene about her mum dying and being a solid provider for the family. they arnt causing caios now so whats to say the new family will bring ratings up.... the millers havnt, they've raked in a few good storylines but it hasnt stopp their ratings dropping completly.

if they do bring another mad family it'll only end in the same way. i dont think it'll help. they need to re think and re sort the characters and storyline they already have wiht out bringing in new making it harder to think of new good ideas. they should think about developing what they have... not developing new and trying to make it take off wiht a bang. (If that makes sense)

for the mad family im getting visions of "the family from hell" like the battersbys in coronation street, but not the comical side, the really fowl and horrbile side of it, swearing, arguing, fighting, drug dealing, violence, loud music, anti-social behaviour etc... upsetting everyone then one oif them is dead and everyone is a suspect, even to the extentr that Dot Cotton is taken in for questioing along with everyone else!

I heard that David Ester (Pete from FA) was offered the role as the son of the guy Dennis killed (sorry can't remember his name) who will come looking for retribution and thats why Dennis will leave.

What EE needs to do is tie up lose storylines e.g. Michelle having Grant's baby, Johnny murdering Andy, Dennis murdering ?, Zoe being blackmailed to sleep with Den to get pregnant., Den's murder (don't let it drag on too long), Laura's murder and Janine's trial (how long as Janine been gone and there has been no mention of her trial surely Pat would have had to be involved).

some things like michelle's pregnancy can be kept for a bombshell in the future! but then somethings i agree need to be tied up

if david ester came into the show as Jack Dalton's son that would be fantastic!

i don't think ee need much of a shake-up, yes it's not as good as it used to be but it's getting better and i think it they do all the things they say they're gonna do it's just gonna be over-dramatic.

A new family is certinaly not going to help things!! Its just trying to show them putting them bad.. they loose good characters and try and bring new ones which will not be as popular, probably, in!!
