Shane Ritchie has won best actor at the TV Quick awards for the second year running!! What do you guys think? Was it well deserved? Can't understand how Nigel Harman didn't beat him to that one!!!

i think it was as he has been acting a depressed man and in real life we know shane is a cheaky cheary chappy, a good actor is someone who can act differently to what they are in real life... he may have annoyed us in recent months but his acting has been on top form

as for nigel harman, i cant see how he could even be nominated for an acting award, as his acting is useless! he only ever has one side to his character: a brooding wannabe mitchell with a chip on his shoulder!

OAPS are never given the chance to shine at awards...usually only nominated for best comedy act...think of past soap award nominations and its true...

I think Shane is a better actor than Adam Woodyatt personally, but hey that's your opinion :)

He only won because of his popularity, the same when Nigel Harman wins he only wins because he gets the female votes.

If your looking for Better Actor, then Perry Fenwick is my choice from Eastenders, he plays Billy very well.

How predictably boring is this getting Shane Richie wins another award for his 'ACTING SKILLS' I'm fed up with brillaint actors such as Perry Fenwick being passed up for such awards over a so called talented Shane Richie the quicker he leaves the better

I think it says something about the type of soap EE has now become. How can anyone in their wildest dreams really imagine that Shame Riychie is britains best

He's a good charcter, but hes not the best actor at all. There are tons of better ones.

I think a valid point has been made in this thread that the older actors never seem to get any recognition. Ok June Brown won her Lifetime achievement award, but they never seem to be shortlisted in the best actor/actress categories. For example I think that the actors who play Patrick and Jim are absolutely brilliant. They bring alot of comedy to Eastenders, something which is lacking in the other characters there. But neither of these actors have received any sort of recognition for their skills! Nana Moon is another. Do the EE writers actually realise that Nana Moon is a much loved part of Eastenders? She's barely even in it these days!!There should definitely be something done to ensure that the older cast members aren't left out in the cold when it comes to award ceremonies!!

Shane's Your Man
Shane Richie and Lacey Turner have won TV Quick and TV Choice Awards

Best Newcomer
Congratulations to Lacey Turner who's been awarded for bringing Stacey Slater to the Square. Stacey may have been in Walford for less than a year, but she's certainly made an impact

Best Soap Actor
Shane Richie picked up the award for the second year running. The nation really does love Alfie Moon. You've voted him as the top geezer in soap!

Awards - more like popularity contest shams.

How in the bleeding hell shanes year of "im twyna say sumthin' impowtant to a girl so i'll tawk in my lickle boy to a baby voice" acting is 'amazing' is beyond me!

I seen more amazing acting come out of the queen vic sign swinging slightly in the atmospheric breeze.

I must have missed those episodes - The words Shane Ritchie and quite good acting dont really go together.
