The highly-anticipated crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale is edging ever closer, and we now have a new teaser trailer to ramp up the excitement even more. In typical soap fashion, Corriedale looks to be packed full of high-stakes drama.

As the crossover between the pair of iconic ITV soaps is set to hit the small screen next month, fans are naturally eager to see what could be in store for the collection of characters, and we now have a little glimpse.

The new trailer depicts a grisly scene following a multi-vehicle collision on the outskirts of Hotten, with the crash coming on a "dark and stormy country road". With danger at an all-time high, we begin to hear the faint echo of distant voices.

For fans of Corrie, we can place them as David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), while Emmerdale aficionados will notice that Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) can be heard.

What's unclear, however, is how the residents of Weatherfield have ended up across the Pennines in Yorkshire, and crucially it remains unknown how the "catastrophic" crash materialised.

"Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets and lies," teases the logline. "Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!"

Furthermore, we get a first glimpse at the official Corriedale logo, while it has also been confirmed that the episode will be an hour in duration. We still don't have an exact air date, but we know it's coming in early January 2026.

In addition to the aforementioned names, three of whom (Shepherd, Ford and McPherson) are new announcements, the only other confirmed cast member so far is Vicky Myers, who will reprise her role as DS Lisa Swain from Corrie.

Myers, who joined the soap in 2021, said of the crossover: "To be involved in this unique, bold, innovative, not to mention history-making episode, in Coronation Street's 65th year, (well, when we are filming it at least), is fantastic.

"When I read the script and found out how two worlds collide, who is involved and how the characters interact, not to mention the impact the events of the night will have? Wow. It's going to be unmissable."

Coronation Street and Emmerdale's epic crossover event is getting closer ? and ITV bosses have officially announced the scheduling details today. So, when can fans expect to see two worlds collide in Corriedale?

New schedules have been released confirming that it all plays out on Monday 5 January once the festive fortnight is over, so there's not long to wait for this historic soap moment.

That evening, a regular 30-minute episode of Emmerdale will air at 7pm, followed by a 30-minute Coronation Street at 7.30pm.

At 8pm, Corriedale will follow in an hour-long slot, merging the two soaps for the first time ever.

The crossover comes as ITV launches its new "power hour" scheduling for the soaps, which will mean slightly less screen time each week.

From Tuesday 6 January, Emmerdale moves to 8pm on a permanent basis with Coronation Street following at 8.30pm.

Both soaps will air five 30-minute episodes per week in these new fixed timeslots, down on the current output of six each. This marks a new era for Corrie in particular, as it'll now be screening over five nights on a regular basis.

Earlier this month, ITV announced that a multi-vehicle pile-up will be at the centre of the drama as Corrie and Emmerdale appear in the same storyline for the first time.

A foreboding trailer, currently airing on the network, shows the aftermath of the crash ? which takes place on a dark and stormy country road near the village of Hotten.

Corrie's David Platt, Tracy McDonald and Lisa Swain have been confirmed to feature, alongside Emmerdale's Liam Cavanagh and Aaron Dingle.

An ITV statement teased: "But what has brought the residents of Weatherfield across the Pennines to Yorkshire, and how have the characters from the two soaps ended up in the catastrophic collision?"

ITV's scheduling shake-up for the soaps was announced in February after internal research showed that viewers preferred "digestible" 30-minute episodes rather than hour-long ones.

Kevin Lygo, ITV's Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, said at the time: "The new commissioning pattern is viewer-led. We already give more choice than ever to viewers on how they watch us through ITVX and we want to present their favourite soap to them in the most digestible way.

"In a world where there is so much competition for viewers' time and attention, and viewing habits continue to change, we believe this is the right amount of episodes that fans can fit into their viewing schedule, to keep up to date with the shows.

"Research insights also show us that soap viewers are increasingly looking to the soaps for their pacey storytelling. Streaming-friendly, 30-minute episodes better provide the opportunity to meet viewer expectations for storyline pace, pay-off and resolution."

We now only have a few weeks to wait before Corriedale, the crossover episode between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, hits the small screen. As its premiere fast approaches, we have a host of new characters who will be involved.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Corrie's David Platt and Tracy Barlow would be joined by Emmerdale's Liam Cavanagh, with the trio being the second batch of confirmed characters following the previously announced Lisa Swain and Aaron Dingle.

Now, with a brand new trailer to boot, we have a handful of new figures who will appear, with Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor, Kevin Webster, Abi Webster and Shona Platt all making their way from Weatherfield to be involved.

On the Emmerdale side of things, we have Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden and Joe Tate, but it remains to be seen how all these parties come together.

What we do know is that a multi-vehicle pile-up will be at the centre of the drama, with the newest trailer showing Kit attempting to take control of the situation as Carla tries to calm somebody down.

Husband-wife duo David and Shona are tended to by paramedic Jacob following the accident, while fellow medical worker Asha works with Cain to discover if there are any further injuries to report.

Shona and Charity come together later as they are pictured at Hotten General Hospital, while Kevin and Abi are seen looking for somebody at the crash site. Robert and Joe are also on the search, this time for Aaron.

The hour-long special, which is described as a "celebration of the genre", will air on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday 5 January, though it won't stream early on ITVX or YouTube like standard episodes of the respective ITV soaps.

"Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets and lies," reads the logline for the crossover. "Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!"

Corriedale has officially confirmed that the villainous John Sugden will return for the crossover episode between Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Along with the news that the evil figure is set to make his comeback, ITV has confirmed the full cast of 41 characters for the instalment.

Set to air on Monday 5 January, the special episode sees the two iconic ITV soaps merge for the first time ever, marking a historic moment.

While the exact details of what to expect in the episode are being kept under wraps, we do know that a multi-vehicle pile-up will be at the centre of the drama, with a recently released teaser trailer confirming the catastrophic crash.

As if a terrifying crash isn't enough, ITV has now confirmed that Aaron Dingle's wicked ex-husband John will make his return during the crossover episode, having last been seen on Emmerdale back in September.

A newly released image, which also features Debbie Webster, Todd Grimshaw, Carla Connor, Cain Dingle and Charity Dingle, shows John standing menacingly behind a pregnant Charity.

While we already had an idea of some of the cast members who would be appearing in the special episode, the soap has now officially confirmed the full line-up.

Appearing in the special episode from Corrie are Abi Webster, Asha Alahan, Becky Swain, Betsy Swain, Billy Mayhew, Carl Webster, Carla Connor, Cassie Plummer, David Platt, Debbie Webster, James Bailey, Jodie, Ken Barlow and Kevin Webster.

Also coming over from Weatherfield are Kit Green, Lisa Swain, Ronnie Bailey, Sarah Platt, Shona Platt, Steve McDonald, Summer Spellman, Theo Silverton, Tim Metcalfe, Todd Grimshaw and Tracy Barlow.

Those making an appearance from the cast of Emmerdale are Aaron Dingle, Cain Dingle, Charity Dingle, Chas Dingle, Eric Pollard, Jacob Gallagher and Jai Sharma.
Joining them are Joe Tate, John Sugden, Liam Cavanagh, Mackenzie Boyd, Moira Dingle, Ray Walters, Robert Sugden, Sarah Sugden and Victoria Sugden.

"Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets and lies," reads the synopsis for the crossover. "Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!"

Coronation Street and Emmerdale have released an amazing new spoiler picture from Corriedale this week, showing Shona Platt and Charity Dingle coming face-to-face amid a terrifying time. Now Julia Goulding and Emma Atkins, who play the pregnant soap ladies, have shared some exciting fresh details about what to expect.

Corriedale sees the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover for the first time when the hour-long special event airs on Monday 5 January. The drama follows a multi-vehicle crash which takes place on a country road, leaving characters from both soaps in jeopardy.

Charity supports Shona in an emotional scene at the Hotten General Hospital, as seen in a first-look photo released on Monday (December 15). And it sounds like the two cast members involved couldn't wait to work together...

Speaking exclusively to us at the red carpet premiere for Corriedale, Julia explained: "When I read scenes [and saw] that I'd get to be working with Emma, obviously Charity is such an iconic character. I was like: 'Yeah!'

"When the cameras weren't rolling, we were just nattering the whole time! It was lovely."

Sharing her perspective, Emma told us: "With Julia and Jack [P Shepherd, who plays David], I got to watch them both pull off some quite intense emotional scenes.

"To see them in that capacity felt quite humbling and I was blown away by their performances.

"It was like a twin storyline, in terms of both characters being heavily pregnant. I took [Shona] under my wing for all of five seconds! I remember I kept messing up that scene, though! She forgave me!"

The crash takes place near the town of Hotten, which has been part of the Emmerdale universe over the years. Corrie characters find themselves caught up in chaos while travelling back from Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey's wedding.

Julia added: "There was lots of noise! I did my own stunt, which was really fun. Obviously we had a fantastic stunt team. There's quite a lot going on with fire and things!

"So I was in the minibus coming back from the wedding and I was all harnessed up. I felt like Lara Croft. I love doing stuff like that. Working on Corrie is wonderful, but it tells the tales of people that live in a back street in Salford. So when we get to actually do stuff like the big stunts, it's just such a privilege to be involved in. I love it."
