BIG Brother 5 winner Nadia Almada checked in to the Priory last week suffering from depression.
The Portuguese transsexual headed to the clinic after becoming "really down" following personal and professional setbacks.
A friend said: "Obviously Nadia has had issues in the past to do with her sexuality and with her career hitting the skids, it's all proved too much."
The final straw is believed to have come after being axed by her agent John Noel Management, who handles stars like Davina McCall.
The 28-year-old also split with her gem dealer boyfriend known only as Richard in May.
Our source added: "She just didn't know where it all went wrong. All her old insecurities came flooding back. It's sad because she's such a lovely person."
