As previously speculated in the 22-25 Sept thread, the 2025 Aust pace finale will involve a train crash: "a couple of months ago a large number of the H&A cast were seen by residents of Cowra filming a number of scenes at the Lachlan Valley Railway Heritage Centre (Cowra is a town in the Central West region of New South Wales, about 4 hours from Sydney). Nothing has been confirmed, but the filming made around various train yards has prompted fans to speculate that some kind of train crash may feature in this year's H&A season finale in Aust."

Ch7 is expected to release a promo soon.

Home & Away?s 2025 cliffhanger stunt
Who will survive this year's big soapie cliffhanger?

https://tvtonight.com.au/2025/10/home-aways-2025-cliffhanger-stunt.html

At Seven Upfronts this week a promo was revealed for the 2025 cliffhanger.

Emily Weir (Mackenzie Booth) teased a never-before-attempted stunt which would have fans hooked when it screens in coming weeks.

What followed was Summer Bay characters on a train carriage, which subseqently crashed inside a tunnel.

Who knew Summer Bay even had a train line, let alone a tunnel? Maybe it has linked to Yabbie Creek all this time?

The crash that sent frontline workers, including Jeremy Lindsay Taylor as Sgt. David Langham into overdrive with some characters trapped inside in peril, and others on the outside about to risk life and limb to free them.

Seven is expected to release the promo soon.

It's great that a long-running soap still ends the year on a traditional soapie cliffhanger. For once, it doesn't conclude in another car crash.

If Bree hasn't left by then I'm predicting she'll die. Although I can think of a few other characters I'd like to see go

Home and Away aired the first promo for this year's Aust season finale, during tonight's 'The Voice' grand finale. It showed the 'party train' crash which (not confirmed) could be a launch party for Remi and Sonny's new 'Back on Track' record label.

(Also, for the UK, Channel 5 have now confirmed that this year's final episode will air on Friday 5th December - the show was originally scheduled to end two weeks earlier, on Friday 21st November, but has now been extended until Dec 5th.)

EDIT/Update on why everyone is on the train:

Ch7 have made a press release on Monday revealing that "in Home and Away's final week of the year, a number of the Bay's residents board a party train en route to 'Off the Rails', a three-day musical festival in Broken Hill, where Remi (Adam Rowland) and Sonny (Ryan Bown) have secured a performance slot for their newest signing, Eddie Shepherd (Stephen Madsen)."

(Broken Hill is a mining town on the border of New South Wales and South Australia.)

Nowtolove.com.au article on the Aust finale promo:

What happens in the catastrophic Home and Away 2025 season finale?
If the trailer is anything to go by, it's going to be big.

https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/home-and-away-season-finale/

As we approach the end of the year, there are a bunch of big occasions we should all write in our diaries. There?s Christmas lunch with the family, New Year?s eve parties and, of course, the Home and Away finale.

But if the teaser trailer for this year?s finale is anything to go by, we?re in for a disastrous episode which threaten the lives of our beloved Summer Bay favourites.

According to the official Channel Seven press release, a bunch of the Bay?s finest are all heading to a three-day music festival in Broken Hill called Off The Rails in Broken Hill to support newcomer musician Eddie Shepherd (Stephen Madsen).

To get there, the gang decide to hop onboard a party train to kick off the celebrations early. There?s drinks, there?s dancing and the good vibes are so high it even leads to a surprise proposal.

But little to the merry group of partiers know, they?re hurtling towards disaster. A group of teenagers have been spray painting graffiti within a tunnel and when they hear the train coming, they ditch their bikes on the tracks and run for their lives.

Tragically, the bikes cause chaos and carnage as the train flips off the tracks.

Will anyone survive the cash? Only time will tell.

Is there a trailer for the Home and Away 2025 season finale?

Yes, there is ? and it?s explosive.

When is the Home and Away 2025 season finale?

The exact date of the Home and Away finale hasn?t been announced by Channel Seven just yet. Instead, the network has said the final episode is ?coming soon?.

But if there?s anything we can gather from contextual clues and previous years, it should be around the end of November and the beginning of December.

You can watch Home and Away on Seven or 7Plus.

Home and Away releases gripping first look at earth-shattering season finale stunt
"The countdown to impact has begun..."

Home and Away reveals 'unthinkable' twist in 'catastrophic' season finale: 'Deadly'
The Home and Away season finale takes place on a train, leaving fans confused about where it came from.

https://au.yahoo.com/home-and-away-reveals-unthinkable-twist-in-catastrophic-season-finale-deadly-015457859.html

Home and Away fans have been left puzzled after a preview for the show's season finale aired on screens on Sunday night. The Aussie soap has urged fans to "brace for impact" as the season finale will see some Summer Bay favourites on a train "destined for disaster".

Channel 7 has teased that the finale will feature "one of the most shocking disasters in the show?s 38-year history". Which is huge, considering the bizarre things that have happened on the show, including people being held hostage after joining a cult, kidnappings, a telepathic twins storyline, shark attacks and more.

"In Home and Away?s final week of the year, a number of the Bay?s residents board a party train en route to Off the Rails, a three-day musical festival in Broken Hill, where Remi (Adam Rowland) and Sonny (Ryan Bown) have secured a performance slot for their newest signing, Eddie Shepherd (Stephen Madsen)," Channel 7 shared in a statement.

"Inside the train carriage, spirits are high, music is pumping, and the drinks are flowing? there?s even a surprise proposal set to drop jaws.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtONYsptkVU

"But as music and laughter echo through the train, the festival-goers are unaware they are on a catastrophic collision course with disaster.

"A deadly derailment will trigger chaos and carnage, with passengers plunged into an unthinkable nightmare."

They teased that "for some, it?s the end of the line," and questioned who would survive the impact.

It appears that once the train departs and everyone is celebrating on board, two teenagers are spraying graffiti on the inside of the tunnel.

While the teens manage to escape, their bikes are left on the tracks, blocking the train's path and causing the major crash.

Who will survive the Home and Away train crash?

Given that the show is shot several months in advance, we know that almost everyone will return to screens after the train crash.

However, Stephen Madsen, who plays Eddie, hasn't been seen filming the show in Palm Beach in recent months, so could it mean he doesn't make it?

Sonny (Ryan Bown), however, has been seen in recent weeks in a wheelchair ? could it be a result of the train crash?

Time will tell!

Home and Away's finale week will air this month, but the exact dates have yet to be revealed.

Home and Away: Maddison Brown explains 'so much' went into train disaster 2025 season finale

https://thewest.com.au/entertainment/tv/home-and-away-maddison-brown-explains-so-much-went-into-train-disaster-2025-season-finale-c-20664821

Home and Away favourite Maddison Brown is urging fans to brace for impact as the show heads towards its devastating finale this week.

The final episode for the year, set to air on Wednesday, sees a devastating train derailment, triggering chaos, carnage and casualties.

"It wouldn't be a Home and Away finale without cliffhangers and drama - and fans will have more than enough to sustain them through the summer break," Brown said.

"They have never done a train crash before - I am so excited to see what happens."

The star, who joined the show earlier this year, can't give away what transpires, but will say that the lives of several Summer Bay's favourites hang in the balance.

They've boarded the party train en route to Off the Rails, a three-day musical festival in Broken Hill. Remi (Adam Rowland) and Sonny (Ryan Bown) have secured a performance slot for their newest signing star, Eddie Shepherd (Stephen Madsen), who is dating Brown's character, Jo.

"Jo is on the train with her sister and Eddie - she is going along to support him at the music festival," she explains.

"While on the train, Eddie actually pops the question!

"I won't reveal what her answer is yet, but fans will be very excited, I am sure."

The events that unfold in this year's finale are being billed as 'one of the most shocking disasters in the show's 38 year-history', and as Brown says, production went all-out to ensure the scenes looked as realistic as possible.

The show filmed in rural NSW, with a specialist team brought in to recreate the disaster, complete with real train, emergency services workers and mass casualties.

"So much went into it," Brown said.

"We have such amazing series producers, and they absolutely planned it all down to the nth degree and down to the minute.

"The shoot was just so much fun, and it was so nice to change up the scenery from Palm Beach and the studio."

The scenes were filmed on location in Cowra and Orange, a four-hour drive west of Sydney, with the cast and crew relocating to shoot the scenes

"Those kinds of shoots are always fun - it feels like a school camp," Brown said.

"It's nice to have a working holiday in a way, to get out of Sydney and the normal routine, and for us all to be together.

"It was a lot of fun."

Brown is continuing to film Home and Away for another month and will then take time off at the end of December before returning to the hit soap early 2026.

During her summer break she will head to New Zealand with her fiance, Simon Mead, to spend time with his family.

"It's going to be a lot of rest, relaxation, and going to the beach," she said of her time away.

"My finance's dad has a boat, so we are going to go fishing, and catch tuna and make tuna sashimi straight out of the ocean - we'll be having a very idyllic, beautiful New Zealand Christmas."

Then it's back to Sydney and straight back to Summer Bay, and her other full time job - running her successful skincare company, Outside Beauty & Skincare, with sister, Allyson.

Brown says she is still 'very involved' with the suncream business she started four years ago, which has seen huge growth in the past 12 months.

"As soon as I get home from work, I am on my laptop doing emails and calls - (the business is) very much 50/50, and that won't change," she said.

"I am very dedicated and I don't let much stop me from pushing myself and helping the business grow."

Home and Away's feature-length season final airs Wednesday at 7pm on Seven
