Believe it or not, Sunday, September 4 is being dubbed Bite Night by ITV1.
Several themed programmes are being broadcast to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of Jaws, Steven Spielberg's blockbusting movie about the hunt for a great white shark which has been attacking holidaymakers in a small community.
One of the highlights of the evening promises to be Celebrity Shark Bait, in which former Emmerdale star Amy Nuttall, actor Richard E Grant, comedienne Ruby Wax, and athlete-turned-commentator Colin Jackson will be seen swimming with sharks.
They've agreed to take a trip to Cape Town, South Africa, where they'll be diving in shark-infested waters.
Underwater cameras will capture all the action as the fearless foursome come face-to-face with these monsters of the deep, first in a metal cage, then in a new, largely untested device made from polycarbonate.
It's going to be a tricky challenge, but those taking part are up for it - although Colin, at least, is a little nervous about the whole event.
"I'm scared of water," he grimaces. "I'm hoping I can control all my nerves and fears."
Hopefully, he and Amy will be able to comfort each other.
She also admits that, despite handling a few hair-raising storylines during her time in the rural soap and singing in front of millions as Sarah Brightman in an edition of Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes last year, she feels some trepidation about her latest task.
"I will face my fears," she reveals. "I am scared of sharks and the sea. I think it's a really good opportunity. I want to be able to go back home and say I've swum with sharks."
