bbc cover up??

sorry but in 2005 its weird leslie grantham,jill halfpenny,nigel harman,billy murry,woman who plays tina,kim medcalf,michelle ryan and someone else are all leaving/left why? well in leslie granthams case there was a reason also they closed the bbc message boards and i read in the sun that the bbc wanted to run a northern based soap so maybe they are boycotting fans in favour of this new idea :hmm: just an idea

I remember hearing those rumours but from what I recall it was partly due to the beebs intention to base more of their staff in Manchester. I dont yhink the new soap was designed to replace EE but more as a rival to Corrie

You know what,maybe your right,EE seems to have been run down,except for odd episode,maybe this ee is coming to an end,and the Mitchell show is startting,yes we all know what LG did,so what he'd had his punishment and was moving on,along came KH and axed half the cast,she only lasted a couple of months and then got her just deserts,the axe herself,along came a new crew who promised the earth and still weve only had a handful of good episodes,and the bbc is moving a lot of its wotk to manchester,they might figure,bore us with the mitchell show and we'll be glad when they say its axed,and the new soap begins,if its true i just hope they are not just gonna copy corrie cos no one in manchester lives like that

interesting theory - but I think that the EE bosses actually think that by bringing back the Mitchells that ratings will go up and it will be back to the standard it was before. I really don't think that they are gonna axe it

I know the accents are not manchester accents,i think they mainly have oldham accents,

they cant start a northern soap
corrie is made by granada who are based in manchester (hence manchester)
emmerdale was started by yorkshire tv (before it became part of granada) so was sent in the dales
the same applies to brookie and h oaks (chester is very close to mersyside)

the bbc are moving loads of stuff up north and too birmingham because production is chepaer and so are living costs, i think thsis apply maily to cbbc etc

i cant see albert square going anywhere, it will keep going as long as elstree studios is kept going i imagine (holby is made there and TOTP amongst others)

well top of the pops is gone or going,and over the years some excellent programs have been axed.no programme is safe forever,and unless ee bucks up and moves on,well they could end up axed,they should ignore the press and stop chasing corrie and emmerdale and concentrate on improving EE

:clap: What an excellent post. Although EE is in no imminent danger of being axed who knows what may happen in the future if the ratings do not improve. True this weeks episodes have been a great improvement on some of the recent dross. Lets hope this is not just a temporary phase and that over the next few weeks it continues to improve rather that return to the rubbish that has been evident of late. I agree that they should not worry about the ratings and concentrate on improving the whole show. Writing and storylines. Get rid of the dead wood and stop wasting extraordinary amounts of money and effort wooing back so called stars for a few weeks appearance in order to provide a short time boost to the viewing figures. Use some of the fantastic actors they have with better storylines and quit employing someone just because they are 'sooooooo fffiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttt' Lets have three great British soaps again

Leslie Grantham didn't want to stay on if Louise Berridge wasn't working there, Nigel Harman feels they can't take Sharon and Dennis any further, Billy is probably something to do with them getting rid of all the ganster storylines, hence Charlotte leaving too. Kim Medcalf wants to move on to other things because she's only ever done Eastenders and the same with Michelle. She's only young. It's not that hard to believe, nothing last forever in soap.
