Coronation Street character Les Battersby will get into a fight with rock band Status Quo in a forthcoming episode.
It had previously been reported that ageing rockers Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt would appear in the ITV soap to play at Les and Cilla's wedding.
But it has now been confirmed that the duo will also appear in an earlier episode where Rossi launches a revenge attack on Les, played by Bruce Jones, after an incident many years ago.
The plot sees the Status Quo tourbus stop in Coronation Street on the way to a gig because Rossi has stagefright and wants a drink in the Rovers return to calm his nerves.
Rossi's fears began several years ago when an obsessive fan ran on stage during a concert and injured him.
When Les spots the band he grabs his old Quo records and dashes into the street to beg them for autographs.
But Rossi recognises Les as the man who injured him all those years ago and the group give him a kicking before driving on.
But in a twist, Status Quo later agree to appear at the Battersby's wedding.
