Coronation Street has confirmed that Yasmeen Metcalfe's exit storyline will begin next week.
Popular cast member Shelley King is bowing out from the role of Yasmeen after 11 years in the ITV soap.
Next week's episodes set the stage for some emotional scenes, as Yasmeen's granddaughter Alya Nazir prepares for big changes in her life.
First up, Alya's bosses at the Fabian's law firm try to force her to take on a coercive control case, where she'd be defending the perpetrator.
This makes Alya feel highly uncomfortable after Yasmeen's traumatic experiences while married to evil Geoff Metcalfe. When Alya's concerns aren't listened to, she quits her job.
Alya can't believe the poor way she's being treated when her bosses spitefully send her a bill for her training. Wanting some familiarity back in her life, Alya asks her boyfriend Adam Barlow for her old job back.
Later, the eventful day continues as Yasmeen tells Alya that she has been offered a job working for a charity in London.
Yasmeen admits that she wants to sell her share in Speed Daal and move away for this new opportunity. Will Alya be supportive?
Shelley King's decision to leave Coronation Street was first revealed last month.
Although Shelley hasn't commented publicly on her departure so far, it's thought that it was her choice to leave as she wants to pursue other acting projects.
Corrie sources have confirmed that the show's bosses respected Shelley's desire to move on. She'd first expressed her ambitions in early 2024, giving plenty of advance notice.

Chaos will ensue on Coronation Street after Jenny Connor makes a drunken pass at Kit Green, potentially damaging her relationship with Daisy Midgeley in the process.
The relationship between Jenny and her stepdaughter has already been fraught in recent weeks, with the spat beginning after Jenny mistakenly let Daniel Osbourne believe that he was the father of Daisy?s baby.
Despite acknowledging to Jenny that police officer Kit was the father, Daisy fell short of telling Daniel the truth after sensing that the lie could bring the former couple back together, though she did berate Jenny for getting involved in her business.
In scenes set to air on Monday and Wednesday (March 3 and 5), Daisy will hand Jenny a legal document in regards to the deeds of The Rovers, which the pair had obtained with money they stole from Carla Connor.
After Carla demanded her money back, Daisy explained to Jenny that the only possible way was for Daniel to be given the deed to the pub, though Jenny wasn?t best pleased as she told him to watch his back with Daisy.
Later in the week, Jenny blames Daisy for the loss of The Rovers, though Daisy spits back by remarking that Jenny was more than happy for Daniel to believe the baby was his if it meant their debt was paid.
Fearing the worst for her future, Jenny drowns her sorrows on her birthday, which she labels as the ?worst of all time.? She later makes a drunken pass at Kit, embarrassing herself in the process.
Waking up with a raging hangover the following morning, Jenny admits that she made a huge mistake and apologises to Daisy for her behaviour.
Will she be able to make amends with her stepdaughter?

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a63931560/coronation-street-cassie-ken-spiking-aftermath/
Coronation Street is set to air the aftermath of Cassie Plummer's manipulation of Ken Barlow, with Ken's decision leaving Tracy stunned.
Tonight's episode of the ITV soap will see Ken find out that Cassie has been spiking his drinks with antihistamines to make him drowsy while working as his unofficial carer, and using his credit card to make expensive purchases for herself.
Ken orders Cassie to pack up her things and leave as she begs him not to tell anyone what she's been up to, though he threatens to warn Steve McDonald and also involve the police.
In Monday's (March 3) episode, Ken is troubled to hear that Fiz and Tyrone have thrown Cassie out after they learned about her manipulation.
Tracy is left stunned when Ken tells her that he won't be pressing charges against Cassie because she has already lost everything.
Meanwhile, Hope convinces Tyrone to go for a drink with Cassie. Can he forgive his mum? And is Ken already starting to consider forgiving her too?
Recently discussing the storyline, Cassie actor Claire Sweeney insisted that her character is complicated and her dangerous actions shouldn't be seen as purely "evil".
"It's the way they're writing it," she told Digital Spy and other press. "She's not being totally evil. She's doing it because she needs him, she wants him to care for her. So she's not being evil.
"It's nice, they're writing humour for her. I've got the stuff with Bill Roache, great stuff with Tracy Barlow as well. I feel very lucky. I've watched the show since I was a kid, so to be part of it, I feel very honoured."
Sorry Cassie, I think you are evil and the sooner you leave the Cobbles the better....

Did Harvey take out life insurance on David for David?
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a64012825/coronation-street-max-turner-sentence/
Coronation Street has confirmed Max Turner's sentence for arson.
The troubled teenager's fate was revealed in Monday's episode, which was released for early viewing on ITVX this morning.
In tense scenes, Max faced court to hear his punishment after he recently handed himself in over the devastating fire at the Platt house.
Max and his loved ones hoped for some leniency, as he'd openly confessed his guilt and shown remorse for his actions.
As the sentencing hearing got under way, the judge carefully weighed up the case.
Although Max's steps to make amends were all taken into account, the judge added: "I cannot ignore the aggravating factors in this case. The planning involved, the use of an accelerant, the fact that the fire could have easily spread to neighbouring properties.
"And by far the most serious factor, multiple people were endangered. I also note that you were subject to a suspended sentence order at the time.
"After credit for your guilty plea, the sentence I arrive at is six and a half years in prison."
Subsequently, plans were made to transfer Max to a prison in County Durham the following day.
Max's loved ones are desperate to keep him safe after ongoing threats from dangerous gangster Harvey Gaskell, who has threatened to get to Max in prison. The Platt family still owe thousands of pounds to Harvey after David's ill-fated theft plan last year.
Max's lengthy sentence was no real surprise, as Coronation Street actor Paddy Bever recently announced that he'd left the role after nearly four years.
Speaking in January, Paddy commented: "After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities.
"I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.
I'm eternally grateful for the chance to bring Max's story to life and it's been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show.
"This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories."
