View Full Version : Why has my post count gone down?
A small majority of posters have been spamming the boards with small posts to increase their post count. Examples are:
lol
 lol
i no (sic)
etc.
While we appreciate posts in the humour and fun/games forums will be like this (post counts are not affected in these forums anyway), this is not acceptable behaviour in other forums. We've had one member who had 600 posts out of 800 as spam.
The occasional use is fine, but please don't take the mickey.
Excellent! Theres is no point to the posts listed above.
Totally agree with this :cheer: Is there going to be say a min no of words/lines - I mean, how are you going to police this?? But I think its an excellent idea..
i hate those that do this all the time, i do it every now and again but not excesivelyt as many of the teen females do, sorry to generlaise but thats how it appears to me
We'll start to take action on it by issuing alerts.
I'll also be writing some code to ensure short posts are not counted
There is a lot of "I agree" posts as well, is that acceptable?

Fair enough, our board is getting strict on it too, so I can understand. From now on, I will make sure I do not do any of the mentioned :)
I think I do the I agree ocassionally but I try to avoid the stuff like lol with no other message. Its annoying when a thread says it has a new post and the post is: yeah.

That windes me up as well.
Yeah it winds me up too. I might do it,which i will try and stop, but not as much as some people.
There is one person in particular that does it constantly and they really wind me up

I'll un-stick this now as it has been up for over a month and hopefully everyone has got the message. Hopefully, anyway! :wall:
