Who will die after a deadly arson attack on the Platt's home in Coronation Street?

As David Platt makes a call to Andy to arrange a time for their plan, Nick reminds him that it’s Sarah’s birthday party, unaware that Logan is listening in.

Sarah tells Nick she’s worried Harvey will get wind of all of the Platt’s in the one place and will be a sitting target. Going ahead with his plan, David lies to Sarah that he’s at a client's house and won’t be attending her party.

When Sam suggests Abi brings Alfie to Sarah’s party after his recent ordeal in the car, she’s furious to realise it was Toyah who reported her. After finding Harry in the bistro office watching Hope’s live stream from No.8 and seeing Ruby and Sam drawing lines on a piece of paper whilst Lily clutches matches, Toyah bursts in and orders the kids out.

Hearing about the livestream from Jack, Abi lets herself in and rounds on Toyah for calling social services. As Toyah accidentally knocks over a bottle of red wine, Abi is reminded of Seb covered in blood and suffers a panic attack. Toyah reaches out to her but in her confused state, Abi smacks her. Will Toyah be okay?

Someone approaches No.8 and pushes a lit rag through the letterbox. After smelling burning, Sally announces the fire to the bistro.

Worried that Lily may be in the house, Shona, Max and Nick head in. Nick finds Toyah unconscious on the floor as Shona and Max head upstairs. Finding out Lily is safe, Shona finds David on the street and tells him that Max is trapped.

As they head back up the path, suddenly No.8 explodes. Will Max survive?

When Tracy reveals that she can’t get hold of Amy, Steve thinks she spent the night at the party.

Later, Leanne tries to persuade Steve to join her for a boozy afternoon, but is left disappointed when he’s not keen. Amy explains to Steve and Tracy that she left several messages but her phone died, lost her car keys and spent the night wandering the streets as a guilty Steve makes out he had an early night.

What was Steve really doing?

Tuesday

David Platt climbs into an ambulance with Max

As the fire engine and ambulance arrive, Kit explains to the paramedic that Toyah suffered smoke inhalation and also has a head wound. When Leanne approaches to check on Toyah, Nick realises she’s drunk and sends her packing.

One of the firefighters comes across Max’s lifeless body and as they lift him into the ambulance, a distraught David Platt climbs in with him.

When Shona quizzes David about the fire, he promises her he had nothing to do with it and he was with an old mate. Lauren joins Shona in the waiting room as Kit arrives, confirms it was arson and David tells him that Logan is clearly responsible for the fire.

At the hospital, a distraught David tells Shona that it’s his fault and he wishes he’d never stolen the money. In his furious state will he take the law into his own hands and try to track down Logan?

Hoping for news of Toyah, Leanne joins Nick in the hospital waiting room. As Nick accuses her of starting the fire, she assures him she had nothing to do with it. As Leanne looks for her purse in her coat pocket, she finds a box of matches.

Did she start the fire while drunk and will she tell Nick what she has discovered?

Having failed to find Abi, Debbie voices her suspicions to Kevin. Meanwhile, Abi collects her things but when she hears Kevin and Debbie entering, she heads out the back.

Having taken a call from Wendy informing him that Abi collected Alfie an hour ago and seemed on edge, Kevin is left fearing for the worst.

In the Rovers, Jenny sets up a drop-off point for donations for the Platts.

David Platt is stunned when his family turn on him

Andy calls at the salon looking for David Platt but when Sarah offers to pass on a message, Andy exchanges a look with Todd and leaves. Todd explains that Andy was an old prison mate of Paul who did time for insurance fraud and they met at Paul’s rave.

Later, Sarah and Nick find David and angrily tell him about the visit from Andy, convinced he must have used him for his insurance scam expertise. Will David tell them the truth?

During an interview, David tells Kit that he was in Denton with Andy Garland at the time of the fire but when Kit reveals that Andy claims not to have seen David, Kit places him under arrest.

Kevin admits to Debbie that one of the jerry cans is missing from the garage and after reviewing the CCTV footage, he spies a hooded figure searching for one.

Later, Abi confesses to Kevin how she’s been suffering hallucinations and sees Seb everywhere she looks.

Carla tells Lisa that they’re running the tests to find out if Rob’s kidney is a match and if it is, she’ll need to pay a deposit. Carla visits Rob and tells him that he’ll be tested in the prison to see if he’s a suitable donor but he’s annoyed, having assumed that he would be required to go to hospital.

Will Carla realise his true motives?

Steve rounds on Leanne for making out she was at Oliver’s grave when the fire broke out but Leanne admits that she can’t remember where she was because she was completely wasted, saw Toyah heading into No.8 and then it’s a blur until she woke up in Victoria Garden with a box of matches in her pocket.

Will she relent when Steve tells her to talk to the police?

Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby makes an alarming confession over the Platt house fire next week.

Upcoming episodes see a devastating blaze rage through the Platts' family home, with various suspects in the frame for causing the disaster.

Viewers will see an unknown figure post a lit rag through the letterbox at No.8.

Suspiciously, the arson incident comes just hours after Leanne has asked Steve McDonald to join her for a boozy afternoon. Leanne feels an affinity with Steve after they've reignited their passion, so she's naturally disappointed when he doesn't seem keen.

Later, Leanne is spotted near the scene of the crime, clutching an empty bottle of booze after drinking alone.

Leanne's sister Toyah Habeeb is among the characters injured in the fire, so Leanne rushes over to check on her. Nick Tilsley is disgusted to see that Leanne is drunk and sends her away.

Persistent Leanne follows Nick to the hospital and joins him in the waiting room.

Nick bitterly accuses Leanne of starting the fire, especially after the recent toaster incident at his flat. Leanne firmly denies it, insisting that she was visiting the grave of her late son Oliver at the time.

However, as Leanne searches for her purse in her coat, she's worried to find a box of matches hidden inside one of her pockets.

Steve is dismayed when he finds out that Leanne lied about being at Oliver's grave to give herself an alibi.

Leanne finally admits the worrying truth to Steve, confessing that she can't remember whether she started the fire or not because she was too drunk.

Although Leanne recalls watching Toyah head into the Platt house, the rest of her memories are a blur until she woke up in Victoria Garden with a box of matches in her pocket.

Steve advises Leanne to come clean with the police over how damning this looks, but will she agree to hand herself in? And is Leanne really the culprit or is she being framed by someone?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, February 5 on ITV1 and ITVX.
