Emmerdale's Laurel Thomas and Nicola King are left horrified next week as Chas Dingle backtracks over Anthony Fox.

Chas reluctantly withdraws her warnings about Anthony after an intervention from Ruby Fox-Miligan.

Monday's episode (January 20) saw Chas alert Nicola that Anthony is a danger to children. She did so as Anthony had started tutoring Nicola's teenage daughter Angelica.

When Anthony then turned physically threatening with Nicola in an argument, her best friend Laurel intervened and knocked Anthony unconscious.

As the drama escalates even further later this week, Anthony is found dead by one of the villagers.

Despite this, Anthony's grisly fate is still unknown by most of the village in next week's episodes.

When Chas admits to Ruby that she warned Nicola about Anthony, a panicking Ruby urges her to take it back ? even though it was all true. Ruby insists that they need to protect her daughter Steph, who still doesn't know the devastating truth about who her biological father is.

Chas reluctantly backtracks by telling Laurel and Nicola that she was wrong about Anthony.

This leaves Laurel and Nicola in turmoil, as they were already worried that Anthony's disappearance was somehow connected to the earlier incident of violence. They now believe that they've potentially left an 'innocent' man seriously hurt ? or worse.

Laurel and Nicola put on a show in front of Chas, pretending to be grateful that she set the record straight.

As soon as Chas has gone, Laurel vows to go to the police station and tell the truth over what happened.

Nicola thinks this is a terrible idea and tries to convince Laurel otherwise, but will she listen?

Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, January 27 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Emmerdale revisits Kerry Wyatt's troubled past next week as Eric Pollard struggles to make amends with his estranged partner Brenda.

Eric threatens to commit arson as he continues to feel guilty for losing Brenda's life savings in a risky cryptocurrency investment.

Viewers saw the couple break up last month in the wake of Eric's big mistake.

Eric desperately tried to convince Brenda to give them another chance, but she insisted there was too much water under the bridge and ended their relationship.

Next week, Eric confides in Kerry Wyatt about how he feels like a failure as he hasn't managed to sell the shop. He'd hoped to secure a quick sale and use the money to pay back Brenda.

Kerry reminds Eric of Brenda's kind and understanding nature, pointing out that she'd much rather wait longer for the money than have him risk his health by pushing himself too hard.

Although Kerry encourages Eric to stop fretting over the situation, there's a sense that she's underestimating just how badly he feels.

Later in the week, Kerry is deeply worried when she finds a collection of matches and accelerants at the shop.

Eric admits that he now plans to burn down the business, hoping to then make an insurance claim and pay Brenda back that way.

Explaining his reasons, Eric foolishly claims that arson is a victimless crime.

Kerry fears otherwise, privately reflecting on the fire that she and Amy accidentally started when they damaged CCTV equipment at the sweet factory in 2019. This incident led to the death of Frank Clayton when he rushed in to rescue his daughter Tracy from the flames.

Kerry wants to warn Eric, but is reluctant to share the exact reason why she feels so strongly about this. Can she find a way to convince Eric to back down before it's too late?

Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, January 27 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Emmerdale's Ruby Miligan learns Chas has exposed her dad's abuse

Chas Dingle knows she has to come clean and is terrified.

With Ruby never having said a word about the sexual abuse her dad Anthony inflicted on her, Chas went and told Nicola when she heard he'd been left alone with teenager Angelica King.

At that moment, the blood drains from Ruby's face. Not wanting her daughter Steph ever to find out that Anthony abused her, she insists Chas tell the women she's got it all wrong.

Given the violent clash Nicola and Laurel secretly had with Anthony after Chas' claim, the guilt-racked friends are sent reeling.

Pretending to be grateful for setting them straight, Laurel melts down once Chas has left, worried that not only has she hurt a man, she's done it for nothing.

When Nicola reminds her that Anthony was attacking her when Laurel struck him, will that calm her down?

Meanwhile, with Anthony still "missing" Steph vents to her parents.

Knowing Ruby is a wreck, Caleb steps up and tries to reassure Steph, insisting it's normal for Anthony to vanish.

In the cafe, Moira listens as Amy talks about wanting to start a family. Encouraged by her mother-in-law, she prepares to bring it up with Matty.

In the shop, Pollard, who has Parkinson's, offloads to Kerry.

He's riddled with guilt about not having yet repaid the money he stole from Brenda.

Kerry urges him to see that Brenda would prefer he didn't push himself too hard and would rather wait.

But Kerry's not picking up on the cues and is underestimating how bad Pollard feels about the situation.

At the Depot, Caleb has something to say.

Thursday

Laurel Thomas is desperate to confess

As far as Laurel and Nicola are concerned there's still no sign of Anthony Fox who seemed to vanish after their violent clash at the Kings'.

Of course, a LOT has happened to Anthony after Laurel walloped him over the head with a candlestick having found him grappling with her friend Nicola who'd accused him of being a paedophile.

But the women have no idea about the other violent skirmishes he had following theirs nor that he's a goner.

Terrified that he's dead in a hedge thanks to the blow she delivered to his head, Laurel just can't handle it and wants to go to the police and tell them everything.

Can Nicola, who's dead against the idea, talk her around?

At Pollard's shop, Kerry's absolutely horrified when she finds the shopkeeper is planning on setting the place alight and has bought all the gubbins he'd need to do so.

The OAP is banking on an insurance payout to clear his debt to Brenda and has decided arson is the only way.

Can Kerry talk him out of the idea? Will she share the fiery horror from her past which saw Frank Clayton killed in the Sharmas' factory?

Heath Hope's headstone has arrived but his dad Bob can't face looking at it.

Cathy's upset at her dad's procrastination.

Pollard soothes his friend, sharing his experience with grief.

As Bob admits he can't bear the idea of saying goodbye to his beloved son, who died a year ago in a tragic car crash, Pollard finds the right words to say.

Cathy and Bob look at Heath's headstone

Later, Cathy and Bob sit with Heath and unpack his favourite snacks. Cathy is convinced her twin would have loved it if he was still here. Bob steps up and reminds his daughter that Heath will always be with them.

1. Kerry consoles Eric

When Kerry finds a miserable Eric, she coaxes out of him that he feels like a failure because he hasn't managed to sell the shop and pay Brenda back her life savings.

2. Pollard plans to burn down the shop

Later that week, Kerry is horrified to see matches and fire accelerants at the shop.

At a loss, Eric admits he's going to burn down the shop and claim on the insurance to pay back Brenda. Justifying himself, Eric insists it's a victimless crime but Kerry is haunted by her past.

Can she stop him from doing something he'll regret?

5. Steph lashes out

With her grandfather missing and his car disappeared, Steph takes out her frustration on her parents, blaming them for his absence.

Chas sheepishly admits to Ruby that she told Nicola about Anthony being a danger to children, but her sister-in-law is devastated and asks her to take back what she said because Steph still doesn't know about his abuse.

Chas is forced to backtrack, leaving Nicola and Laurel incredulous as they both believe his disappearance is their fault.

7. Laurel wants to tell the truth

Can Nicola reassure her best friend and stop Laurel from confessing her role in Anthony's disappearance?

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/a63541270/emmerdale-spoilers-aaron-dingle-anthony-confession/

Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle reaches breaking point next week as he's unable to live with his guilt over Anthony Fox's death.

Aaron decides to come clean in a private conversation with Anthony's daughter Ruby, which threatens John Sugden's ongoing attempts to cover up the truth.

This week's dramatic episodes saw Aaron brutally attack Anthony at Caleb Miligan's depot. Aaron pursued Anthony for revenge after realising that he'd sexually abused Ruby when she was a teenager.

Aaron fled from the scene and left Anthony for dead. When he and John later returned to check on Anthony, they discovered that he'd passed away.

John immediately took control of the situation by offering to dispose of Anthony's body and make it look like he'd left the village of his own accord.

The plan ran into trouble when Aaron and John realised that Anthony's car was still in the village, which made his disappearance look all the more suspicious.

Next week, Aaron and John try to trick Anthony's family into believing that he has briefly come back and collected his things before leaving for good.

As John distracts Ruby by offering to have a coffee with her, Aaron breaks into Mill Cottage to gather Anthony's belongings and spare car key.

Aaron and John then move Anthony's car to Cain Dingle's garage, which is due to be closed for a few days. Aaron focuses on stripping down the car, while John seems to be enjoying being his boyfriend's rock.

Later, John pretends to be interested in a health and safety initiative for Caleb's depot, giving him a chance to investigate the crime scene one last time.

John panics when he spots Anthony's bloodied tooth on the floor and he struggles to find the right moment to retrieve it without attracting attention.

Things get even worse when Caleb appears, making accusations amid John's strange behaviour.

Later, Aaron pays an unexpected visit to Ruby and opens up to her about his past, including his experiences with his abusive dad Gordon and his self-harm in later years.

Ruby's attempts to comfort Aaron leave him feeling guilty, so he admits that he killed Anthony.

Aaron's confession leaves Ruby shocked, but will she keep his secret?
