Monday

Things aren't going well for Lauren Bolton as she goes back in court

And when she finds out her baby Frankie is back in hospital she's even more upset.

Things look positive as Roy Cropper takes the stand, and he tells the jury that Lauren is a kind and caring person.

But up in the public gallery Brie gets to her feet, wearing her arm in a sling and announces that Lauren attacked her in the prison.

Horrified, Lauren protests to her barrister that she did no such thing.

There's more bad news when Lauren is told Frankie is poorly and has been taken to hospital. Frantic about her son, and upset to be stuck in court, Lauren tells her barrister that she's glad Joel died.

Later, at the hospital, Lauren starts regretting her outburst. She's certain she's going to prison and with Frankie fighting an infection, she tells Max she doesn't care about the trial any more. The only thing she wants is for Frankie to get better.

Meanwhile, Daniel tells Daisy to do a DNA test. Daisy books the test but insists Daniel come with her.

At home, Bethany calls the magazine in London and asks if the job is still available.

Back at the Rovers, Daisy is rattled to discover Jenny's been bagging up some of her belongings to sell to raise money to repay their debt to Carla. She's even more concerned when she finds out Bethany bought her designer handbag.

Daniel's surprised when Bethany tells him she accepted the job in London and she wants him to move with her. What will Daniel say?

Toyah is worried when she overhears Roy and Kevin sharing their concerns about Abi's hallucinations.

Abi tells Kev that Roy's got the wrong end of the stick and she's fuming when Toyah suggests she sees a grief counsellor. Lashing out, Abi accuses Toyah of trying to steal Alfie.

Meanwhile, Tracy points out to Leanne that neither of them have any mates, so they decide to go drinking together.

As the sink drinks at the Bistro, they enjoy watching Toyah getting grief from Abi.

Later, Leanne gives Amy a cheque for ?12,000 explaining that it's from Les's compensation and she'd like her to have it as part payment for the money the Institute stole.

And Carla's home from hospital, with Lisa promising she'll look after her.

Wednesday

Pregnant Daisy has got something on her mind that she wants to share

Daisy grabs the mic to make an announcement in the Rovers - but what will she say?

In the Rovers, Bethany, Daniel and Sarah are celebrating Bethany's new job. But Bethany has something else on her mind.

She takes Daisy aside and shows her the positive pregnancy test she found in the designer handbag she bought from Daisy.

Daisy's mortified, but assuming Kit is the father, Bethany wishes her love rival well.

As Jenny hosts a lunchtime quiz in the pub, Daisy's unsettled by Daniel and Bethany's presence. When Bethany reveals she and Daniel have set a wedding date, Daisy sees red.

But what will she do?

Jenny is worried when she finds Daisy doubled over in pain in the back room and whisks her off to hospital to get checked out.

When Kit turns up, Daisy invites him to stay for the scan, but will everything be okay with her baby?

Lauren sits by Frankie's cot in the hospital, desperately worried about her little boy, as back in court, the barristers deliver their closing statements.

When Dee Dee calls and tells Lauren the jury can't reach agreement, Lauren's worried that means bad news for her.

Reluctantly, she heads back to court to hear the verdict. Is it going to be a life behind bars for the young mum?

Leanne helps herself to a bottle of wine at the Bistro, and when she spots Debbie leaving after a row with Ronnie she clocks an opportunity.

Ordering another bottle she drunkenly drapes herself over Ronnie and flirts madly. But she's horrified to realise Sam's arrived and seen her behaviour. How will he react?

David bumps into an old mate from prison at the police station and the pair swap numbers. Meanwhile, Shona's shaken when Lily comes home with a piece of paper containing a note from Harvey Gaskell.

Lily tells Shona a man gave it to her at the precinct and asked her to pass it to David.

David's horrified to read the note demanding an extra ?10k in interest, and realises this means Harvey's cronies know who Lily is. He and Shona make a pact to keep an eye on the kids at all times.

Elsewhere, Adam and Alya come across Cassie alone at number 1 and ask her why she's there when Ken is out.

Cassie says she's been doing some cleaning, but once she's along, she pulls Ken's credit card out of her pocket. What is she up to?

Friday

There's a shock in store for the Platt family

David's terrified when the family pet - his namesake, David the dog - is run over.

Is this just the start of Harvey's campaign against him?

The Platts are upset when Michael Bailey calls at the house with David the dog wrapped in a blanket.

He tells them he found the mutt at the side of the road, and he thinks he was hit by a car.

David and Shona wonder if Harvey was responsible and a scared David heads out to take action. He arrives home armed with a baseball bat and a hammer, and tells Shona that until they have the cash to pay Harvey what he owes, they need to protect themselves.

But could David make everything worse?

Leanne's downward spiral continues when she wakes up hungover and late for court. She leaps out of bed, but on the street Debbie spots her. In revenge for Leanne's behaviour round Ronnie, Debs drives through a huge puddle, deliberately soaking Leanne.

When Nick and Toyah come across her, soaked to the skin and looking awful, they insist on driving her to court.

Leanne reluctantly agrees and faces the music in the dock, where she is given a community order.

As Leanne heads out of court, she tells Toyah she wants nothing more to do with her.

But later, Tracy points out that Toyah didn't just steal Leanne's man - she stole her flat with all her things in it, too.

What will Leanne do about it?

Bethany tells Sarah she's still moving to London, despite everything.

As she, Daniel and Sarah carry her stuff out of the flat, Sarah spots Daisy. She gives her a piece of her mind for ruining her daughter's relationship.

Later, Daisy receives the DNA results which will reveal who her baby's dad is. Daisy reads the results, then deletes the email. She tells a shocked Jenny that the dad's identity is irrelevant and will stay a secret.

Meanwhile, a downcast Daniel visits his dad, Ken, and warns him to be cautious of Cassie.

Daniel explains that Bertie saw Cassie putting something in Ken's drink and swore him to secrecy.

Ken confronts Cassie. Can she talk her way out of this one?

Coronation Street airs sad scenes for the Platt family next week as their beloved pet dog is targeted by criminals.

David Platt's canine sidekick ? also called David ? is found injured in an apparent warning from Harvey Gaskell's cronies.

Before Christmas, David started receiving threats over the secret stash of money that he'd stolen from Harvey and Damon Hay.

Matty and Logan Radcliffe repeatedly confronted David on Harvey's behalf. Matty has since been arrested over the death of his younger brother Mason, but Logan remains on the run.

Next week, David receives a shock when his daughter Lily hands over a piece of paper, which was given to her by a strange man in the precinct.

The message is directed to David from Harvey, warning that he now expects an extra ?10,000 in interest due to the delay in paying him back. David is unsettled to realise that Harvey's cronies knew who Lily was.

The Platts realise that they'll have to keep a close eye on the kids until this situation is resolved.

Later in the week, Michael Bailey visits the Platt house and reveals that he found David the dog at the side of the road.

The four-legged favourite has seemingly been hit by a car ? and David and Shona quickly realise that Harvey may have arranged this nasty incident from jail.

Determined to protect his family, David brings home a hammer and a baseball bat, but Shona is deeply concerned by the implications of this.

Coronation Street's new producer Kate Brooks previously teased: "David has stolen a big old bag of cash from Harvey, which was the wrong move. He's done it for the house and the family, but this escalates massively.

"The story we're telling is one of a very desperate David, trying to protect his family and keep Harvey and his goons at bay. He is struggling to navigate that and struggling to pay back this big debt he has. He's struggling to protect his family.

"It all comes to a massive head in early February, when we play a massive stunt that has huge consequences for David. So in trying to protect everyone and do the right thing, he ends up losing quite a few things that he holds dear."

She added: "What I'm keen to show is that this is Corrie. David's a hairdresser and he's not used to being embroiled with drug barons and gangsters. That's not his world.

"But what happens if you take a guy who's very ordinary and put him in a world where people are acting and reacting without any thought or consequence?

"They don't care about David or that he's got a dog ? which might be a bit of a spoiler! Don't worry, the dog doesn't die! But they don't care because they don't know David like we do. It's really important to show how a normal fella reacts to all of this."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, January 22 and Friday, January 24 on ITV1 and ITVX.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a63474902/coronation-street-spoilers-brie-twist/

The show's latest episode saw Brie reappear, watching on ominously from the public gallery in court as Lauren faced trial for Joel's murder.

When Roy Cropper gave evidence painting Lauren as a kind and caring person, Brie waded in to protest otherwise. She caused a scene by claiming that Lauren had attacked her in prison ? even sporting a sling to back up her false story.

Although the judge struck Brie's chaotic intervention from the record, there was a sense that she'd done real damage to Lauren's credibility in front of the jury.

Dee-Dee Bailey became suspicious as she spotted Gus Deering's reaction to Bree's antics. She rushed off to do some digging, then returned to court with some important information to share.

Giving her evidence as a witness for Lauren's defence, Dee-Dee explained: "I have reason to believe that Ms Benson was bribed by Angus Deering ? Joel Deering's father.

"I have evidence to show that yesterday, this woman Ms Brie Benson ? who is a convicted criminal herself ? signed a lease on a very expensive flat owned by Angus Deering.

"A flat considerably more than a woman of her means could afford. It is therefore my belief that such extreme action taken by Joel Deering's father, indicates a desperate, calculated act to undercut the validity of Lauren Bolton.

"He doesn't believe she is guilty ? otherwise he would not need to resort to such extreme, illegal and abusive measures."

Dee-Dee's testimony helped to show Lauren's case in a new light, but has she done enough to get her off the hook? All will be revealed when a verdict is announced on Wednesday.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a63504360/coronation-street-spoilers-daniel-bethany-split/

Coronation Street has aired a dramatic break-up for Daniel Osbourne and Bethany Platt.

The on-off couple split again in Wednesday's episode, paving the way for Bethany to take a break from the ITV soap.

Daniel and Bethany started the day feeling loved-up as they made plans to move to London together, but their PDAs pushed Daisy Midgeley too far.

Daisy, who thinks that Daniel could be the father of her unborn baby, was naturally disappointed when she heard about the planned move for Bethany's new job.

The barmaid finally lost her temper when Bethany made an impromptu announcement during an afternoon pub quiz at The Rovers, confirming that she and Daniel had set a date for their wedding.

Grabbing the mic from Jenny Connor, Daisy interrupted the quiz to ask: "Question ? if Daisy is pregnant but there are two men she slept with, who is the father of her baby?

"It's a multiple choice. Is it a) Kit Green or b) Daniel Osbourne?"

Daisy's revelation left Bethany crushed as she realised that Daniel had been keeping secrets from her for weeks.

Daniel was forced to admit that he slept with Daisy after briefly splitting from Bethany last month. He also confirmed that he already knew about Daisy's pregnancy and hadn't told Bethany.

Later, furious Bethany gave Daniel his engagement ring back and told Daisy that she was welcome to him.

The scenes are building up to a temporary departure for Bethany, as Lucy Fallon ? who plays her ? is now on maternity leave. Lucy and her partner Ryan Ledson welcomed their baby daughter Nancy earlier this month.
