MONDAY
Cindy Beale wakes-up in hospital and is determined to find out WHO attacked her and left her for dead on Christmas Day
Unfortunately for Cindy, there is a long list of suspects...
DCI Arthurs (Ian Burfield) interviews Cindy, who is horrified to learn that she was probably attacked by someone she knows...
There are plenty of folks who vowed payback on cheating Cindy after the Christmas Day revelation about her affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour).
Later, Cindy's son, Peter (Thomas Law) and his girlfriend, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), visit the hospital.
But it all kicks-off again between Cindy and Lauren, who played a part in exposing Cindy's affair.
Later that day, the Police unexpectedly arrive at the Vic, where Lauren is arrested for attempted murder!
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) continues her secret affair with lover, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
The ex-lovers reunited after a kiss at Christmas.
But Denise wants to keep their reunion a secret for the moment.
During a birthday party for Denise and Phil Mitchell's (Steve McFadden) son, Raymond Dawkins (Michael Jose Pomares Calixte), Ravi is not happy when he sees Denise and ex-husband, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), having a moment.
Denise and Ravi manage to steal another moment together later.
Unfortunately, SOMEONE catches them kissing...
Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) visits his fiancee, Sonia Jackson (Natalie Cassidy), in prison ahead of her trial.
Sonia begs Reiss to help her prove she is innocent and had nothing to do with the death of his comatose ex-wife, Debbie, last year.
Of course, only Reiss knows the terrible truth since he was the one behind Debbie's death!
But WHAT will Reiss do when Sonia begs him to convince her sister, Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), to attend the trial?
There's been no sign of Bianca around Albert Square since killer Reiss trapped her at a lock-up storage unit after she exposed his crime...
TUESDAY
Denise Fox is afraid that there will be an almighty family fallout if her secret affair with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) is exposed
But now it looks like that could happen after Ravi's teenage son, Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), caught Denise and Ravi kissing!
Ravi takes control of the situation and attempts to convince Nugget not to reveal what he saw.
However, Nugget is no fan of Denise since he found out she was the one who hit his now dead grandad, Nish Panesar, over the head with a champagne bottle on Christmas Day 2023...
As Denise attempts to keep up appearances with her family, how long will it be before her daughter Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) and ex-husband, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), find out the truth?
At the Police Station, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) is questioned about the Christmas Day attack on Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
It seems Lauren is now the prime suspect since she played a part in the public humiliation of Cindy, when her affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was exposed in front of the Beale and Knight families.
Lauren's boyfriend, Peter Beale (Thomas Law), finds himself caught-in-the-middle of the situation when he discovers it was his mum's statement to the Police that led to Lauren's arrest for attempted murder!
Can Peter convince Cindy to retract her version of events?
Have the Police really caught Cindy's attacker?
Or is there more to the story of what really happened on Christmas Day?
Elsewhere, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) provides Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) with a shoulder to cry on.
Will Nigel listen when Yolande advises him to come clean with long-time friend, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), about what's really going on with his health?
WEDNESDAY
When Nicola Mitchell first arrived in Walford last Autumn, she quickly crossed paths with copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen)
Nicola gave Jack a "friendly" warning not to mess with her or her family...
Has Nicola had a change-of-heart about Jack?
She witnesses Jack getting rejected by his ex-wife, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), after he invites her for lunch.
Later, Jack visits Nicola's wine bar, Harry's Barn, to drown his sorrows.
While he's there, some male customers are inappropriate towards Jack's bartender stepdaughter, Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams).
Things take a violent turn when Jack steps in to defend Chelsea's honour.
Nicola takes pity on Jack and invites him to get cleaned-up in the office after the fight.
WHAT is Nicola up to?
Peter Beale (Thomas Law) is reeling after his girlfriend, Lauren Branning's (Jacqueline Jossa) confession about what really happened on Christmas Day...
Lauren's revelation drives a wedge between her and Peter.
Instead, he chooses to side with his mum, Cindy (Michelle Collins), who is due to be released from hospital after being attacked and left for DEAD on Christmas Day.
But since Cindy's now ex-fiance, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyat), already threw her out of the house after discovering she had an affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), where is Cindy going to stay now?
Martin Fowler (James Bye) and his ex-wife, Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton), are officially back together after their New Year's Eve kiss.
However, Martin has also been drawn back into the orbit of his other ex-wife, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), after the SHOCK turn of events during Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin's (Heather Peace) wedding day.
So, Ruby is not impressed when Martin chooses to team-up with Stacey, after she offers to help him with his pitch to the council to save Bridge Street Market...
THURSDAY
Cindy Beale is back in Albert Square
But very few folks are happy to see her again.
Namely, Cindy's now ex-fiance, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyat), who threw her out of the house on Christmas Day after finding out she'd been cheating on him with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour).
At the Vic, Cindy's ex-husband, George Knight (Colin Salmon) and their daughters, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry), are all on edge.
Do their feelings have anything to do with the Christmas Day attack on Cindy?
Meanwhile, Cindy's son, Peter (Thomas Law), has managed to convince Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) to let her move into the spare room at 25 Albert Square.
However, it soon becomes clear that Cindy and Reiss are not going to be happy housemates...
Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is getting a bit confused as to where he stands with his ex-wife, Denise Fox (Diane Parish).
She currently doesn't want to blur the lines of their friendship by encouraging Jack any further.
However, is that only because Denise has secretly started hooking-up with bad boy lover, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) again?
Denise is grateful when she finds out how Jack got into a fight at Harry's Barn while defending her daughter, Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams).
She invites him for a drink at the Vic later.
But how will Ravi react as Denise continues to cosy-up with her ex-husband?

EastEnders has confirmed that an arrest will be made for Cindy Beale?s attack next week.
On Christmas Day, after Cindy?s affair with Junior Knight was exposed in The Vic, she was hit with a shovel in the Square and left for dead.
There are a host of suspects who could have attacked Cindy, and this week the mystery continues to unfold as Anna, Gina and Elaine make a big discovery and attempt to cover it up.
It has now been confirmed that Cindy will wake up from her coma, and in scenes that will air next week, she will demand answers about what has happened to her.
Peter is reluctant to answer her questions about the family, and Cindy gets emotional. Meanwhile, Anna returns to Walford and tells the family that Cindy is now awake.
DCI Arthurs speaks to Cindy and lets her know that it is likely she was attacked by someone she knows, leaving her horrified.
When Lauren visits the hospital with Peter, Cindy is hostile towards her, after she made sure the incriminating tape was played in The Vic. Things get worse for Lauren when the police later arrive and arrest her for attempted murder.
She is questioned about the night of the attack at the station, after what Cindy told the police. Peter finds out that Lauren was arrested because of his mum?s statement, and he urges Cindy to retract what she said.
However, Peter is shocked when Lauren tells him what really happened on Christmas Day. What has she been hiding?
Lauren?s revelation leads to tension between her and Peter, and he heads back to the hospital to see Cindy. Doctors confirm that she will be discharged tomorrow, so Peter vows to find her a place to stay.
But this proves easier said than done, as he can?t manage to persuade Ian to let Cindy stay with him. As a last resort, Peter tricks Reiss into giving Cindy his spare room ? but while he has solved this dilemma, Peter soon has another issue to deal with.
When Cindy returns to Albert Square, she unsurprisingly doesn?t receive a warm welcome, and she faces hostility from all directions, especially from Ian.
Her return is difficult for a number of characters, with George feeling on edge and Anna secretly opening up to Gina about her own fears.
While Cindy struggles to live with her unlikely new housemate Reiss, Peter faces his own challenge as he tries to support both Lauren and Cindy at the same time. Was Lauren responsible for Cindy?s attack?

EastEnders is set to expose Denise and Ravi's secret relationship next week.
At Christmas, the former flames reignited their romance, but Denise has been keen to keep things under wraps for now. There is also unfinished business with Jack, especially after he helped save her when she was attacked by Nish on New Year?s Day.
In Monday?s episode (January 6), Ravi told Denise to walk away from their relationship, after admitting that he deliberately pushed his dad off the balcony.
But things will get resolved as, in scenes that will air next week, the pair will continue to meet up secretly ? but almost get caught by Chelsea and Kim.
Meanwhile, Denise will invite Jack and the Brannings to celebrate Raymond?s birthday, with Nigel persuading her to invite Phil too. As Ravi gets jealous of Jack at the party, Denise is furious with Phil?s selfish behaviour, and the pair clash.
But when Ravi and Denise head off for a private moment together, they'll be caught kissing by Ravi?s son Nugget.
With Ravi attempting to keep Nugget quiet, Denise heads home, panicking that her secret affair will mean she loses her family. She is supported by Jack, who thinks she is upset because of Phil ? and it isn?t long before Denise and Phil are arguing again.
Ravi notices Denise and Jack looking close, and he gets jealous of the pair. He confronts Denise and tells her that he refuses to be her dirty little secret for much longer.
Later in the week, Jack invites Denise for lunch, but she turns him down. As she explains that they shouldn?t blur the lines of their friendship, their exchange is overheard by an amused Nicola.
Denise reassures Ravi and tells him that she isn?t interested in Jack, but insists that they can?t go public with their relationship as she doesn?t want to lose Chelsea.
After being rejected, Jack drowns his sorrows at Harry?s Barn, but notices Chelsea being harassed by some men. He steps in, and during a violent tussle, Jack gets punched. Nicola sends the men away, and allows Jack to clean himself up in the office.
The next day, Denise thanks a hungover Jack for trying to protect Chelsea, and she invites him out for a drink. Is there still a spark between the pair?
It has recently been announced that, next month, the public will be able to decide whether Denise chooses to be with Ravi or Jack, in an interactive show-first as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations.

After waking up from her coma, Cindy seeks answers over what happened to her. DCI Arthurs arrives to interview Cindy and she's shocked to learn that she was most likely attacked by someone close to her.
Peter and Lauren pay a visit to Cindy, but she continues her tense feud with Lauren. Later, the police arrive at The Vic to arrest Lauren for attempted murder.
Meanwhile, Denise and Ravi continue to spend time together in secret, but Nugget catches them kissing.
Elsewhere, Nigel convinces Phil to attend Raymond's birthday party alongside the Brannings. The gathering goes wrong when Phil clashes with Denise.
Also today, the day of Sonia's trial arrives. At the prison beforehand, she begs Reiss to help her prove her innocence. Sonia also insists on having Bianca there to support her, but when she arrives in court, she's shocked that neither Reiss or Bianca are there.
Finally, Nicola is jealous when Teddy and Sharon go off for a spa break together.

Lauren is questioned by the police following Cindy's recollections from the night of her attack. Peter is concerned to realise that Lauren was arrested due to Cindy's statement, so he urges her to retract it.
Later, Lauren confides in Peter about what happened on Christmas Day.
Meanwhile, Denise fears that she may lose her family due to her secret affair with Ravi. Ravi promises to take control of securing Nugget's silence, but he gets jealous when he later spots Denise enjoying a warm moment with Jack. Ravi warns Denise that he won't be anyone's dirty secret for long.
Elsewhere, Yolande encourages Nigel to be honest with Phil over what's happening with his health.

Ian refuses to let Cindy move back in, so Peter tricks Reiss into letting Cindy have the spare room at his house. Later, Peter's problems get worse.
Meanwhile, Martin informs Reiss that Sonia's trial has been adjourned due to his recent actions.
Elsewhere, Denise refuses an invitation to go for lunch with Jack, insisting that they shouldn't blur the lines of their friendship. She then assures Ravi that she's no longer interested in Jack, but stresses that they can't go public because she doesn't want to lose Chelsea.
Later, Jack intervenes when a group of men behave inappropriately towards Chelsea at the club, but a violent tussle sees him get punched. Nicola invites Jack to clean himself up in the office.
Also today, Ruby feels sidelined when Stacey offers to help Martin with his fight to save the market.

Cindy soon struggles with having to share a house with Reiss, while Peter finds it difficult to support both his mum and Lauren.
Meanwhile, Denise thanks Jack for helping Chelsea and invites him out for a drink.
Elsewhere, Ruby is jealous when she spots Martin and Stacey chatting about the market. Later, Mr Lister arrives with news from the council.
