EastEnders has confirmed that a major new Walford secret will be revealed next year, in new advanced spoilers.

There is a dramatic festive season ahead for the residents of Albert Square, starting with the huge reveal of Cindy Beale?s secrets on Christmas Day.

A recording of her and David?s chat about her affair with Junior and her love for her ex-husband George will fall into the wrong hands, and her lies will be exposed amid the Christmas celebrations at The Vic.

Then there will be an explosive start to 2025, with Suki and Eve finally getting married on New Year?s Day ? but having escaped prison, Nish is lurking in the shadows waiting to ruin everything.

It remains to be seen how both of these tense plots will unfold on screen, but it appears that there will be big consequences for the Square that will continue into next year.

In new spoilers released by the BBC, the events of New Year "continue to have repercussions" on Monday, January 6, suggesting that there is high drama at Suki and Eve?s nuptials.

But that week a new mystery is also introduced, as "Walford?s residents attempt to conceal a secret". Does this relate to either of the festive plots or something else entirely?

Elsewhere, Billy?s suspicions are raised about something, before the Mitchells later make a worrying discovery.

Plus, viewers have been concerned about Bianca, after Reiss left her trapped in a lock-up last month. As Reiss "summons the Square?s residents" on Thursday, January 9, will his latest crime be discovered?

Monday, January 6 ? 7.30pm
The events of New Year?s Eve continue to have repercussions. One Walford resident helps a friend in need by extending a gesture of goodwill, while Billy?s suspicions are raised.

Tuesday, January 7 ? 7.30pm
The drama continues in Walford. Jean shares some pearls of wisdom, while Kim tries to meddle as her suspicions are raised.

Wednesday, January 8 ? 7.30pm
The Mitchells make a worrying discovery, Walford?s residents attempt to conceal a secret, and Denise misreads a situation.

Thursday, January 9 ? 7.30pm
A Walford pair join forces as a problem presents itself, Reiss summons the Square?s residents, and Kim attempts to offer advice.

EastEnders? Phil Mitchell is set to make a huge decision about his future next month, as his family continue to worry about his behaviour.

The soap is currently playing out a loneliness storyline involving Phil, and in recent weeks his loved ones, including Jay and Sharon, have attempted to reach out to him.

When Nicola tried to recruit him to help split up Teddy and Sharon, she discovered that he hadn?t been looking after himself and his kitchen was a mess.

Her twisted scheme saw Nicola gift Phil a bottle of whiskey, knowing that he was a recovering alcoholic. After he tried and failed to help Linda stay sober, Phil almost fell off the wagon himself, but he found the strength to pour the bottle down the sink.

Christmas was a difficult time for Phil; he reluctantly agreed to go round to Teddy?s house for lunch, but he soon decided to leave after seeing him and Sharon looking cosy around the table.

However, Phil got a very unexpected surprise when he bumped into his old friend Nigel Bates, who has seemingly fallen upon hard times.

As the pair caught up, Phil gave him some hot food and a place to spend Christmas Day ? but Nigel is potentially hiding a big secret.

In scenes that will air early in January, Billy tries to get to the bottom of a mystery situation, and his suspicions are raised. He is then shocked to find out that Phil has made a hasty business decision.

As the week continues, Sharon also learns about Phil?s reckless business offer. She is shocked about this discovery, and she confronts him in The Vic to find out more.

She grows increasingly concerned about Phil?s behaviour, so decides to get Jay, Teddy and Billy involved to arrange an intervention ? however, she is surprised when they aren?t too keen to help.

But later on, Sharon joins forces with Phil, when an unexpected situation arises. What has happened, and why do Sharon and Phil have to work together?

EastEnders' Denise Fox is set to hide a big secret in upcoming scenes, following the drama due to happen over New Year.

Denise is currently involved in a love triangle with husband Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati. She shared a kiss with Ravi at Christmas and told him she does want him, but is insisting on taking it slow.

In scenes set to air from Monday, January 6, following the New Year's Eve/Day drama set to go down at Suki and Eve's wedding, Jack offers Denise some comfort.

At the salon, Kim questions Denise about her recent whereabouts, but gets no answers. Kim is even more determined to know the truth when Denise receives a delivery of flowers.

Later on, Denise misreads a situation and, with no other choice, has to come clean about her secret. Kim offers Denise some advice, and she decides to confront the situation head on.

Is Denise's secret about Ravi or is there more going on that she is desperately trying to keep hidden?

Not too long after all the excitement of the New Year's episodes, EastEnders will air its 40th anniversary, and Denise actor Diane Parish has acknowledged that she was a bit nervous about the live episode.

"I was a bit terrified [when I found out]," she told Digital Spy. "I'm getting no younger. When I first did [a live episode], I had a few more of my faculties about me."
