MIT 2 Info on the upcoming series

The programme will feature in the Spring/Summer 2005 season.


"Meera Syal and Diane Parish join Lindsey Coulson, Will Mellor and Michael McKell for an all-star line up in the second series of Murder Investigation Team.

"Each of the feature-length episodes follows a murder inquiry through the eyes of the Murder Investigation Team (MIT), part of the Metropolitan Police elite Special Crimes Unit.

"Heading the team are newly promoted DI Trevor Hands (McKell) and DS Rosie MacManus (Coulson). Despite their different approaches to the job, Trevor and Rosie work well together. But when DCI Anita Wishart (Syal) recruits a newcomer to the team, the dynamics change. Ambitious and unapologetic, DC Eva Sharpe (Parish) joins the ranks of the MIT after a bruising departure from The Bill’s CID squad. Her confrontational approach is guaranteed to bring her into conflict with her peers. Completing the team are DCs Jed Griffith (Mellor) and Simon Tait (Abhin Galeya) with DS Barry Purvis (Richard Hope)."

Only the first episode of Series One was really about The Bill.

MIT is a spin off but is a programme in its own right. The main crossover for this series is DC Eva Sharpe who left Sun Hill to join MIT last year.

Can anyone tell me the reason why Eva left? I can`t remember.

Neil Manson saw Eva as a threat and wanted rid of her. He blackmailed Jack into shipping her out (holding over him the information about Jack's relationship with Rachel Heath.. that Debbie McAllister had told the DI) Mickey was at the nick on a case with Eva and he recommended Eva to his boss at MIT. At Eva's leaving do Neil was annoyed somewhat when he discovered she was moving upwards to MIT rather than just transferring out.
