What supermarket do you shop in?
we use Sainsburys, because even though tescos is closer, they never stock what we want
Asda, Morrisons. Sainsburys, Tescos and M&S food n' flowers.
I got to Asda about once a week, i do internet shop on Tescos. I go to Sainsburys occasionally and M&S just about ever day!
opps i forgot asda on the poll
dumb abbey...
I shop at tesco, like asda but nearest is 12 miles away. We have a somerfield (ok) and a morrisons( yuck) and even worse a aldi. so not much choice really.
i use asda mainly. but i also use iceland and somerfield for the bits i need throughout the week!!
I forgot sommerfields as well
and iceland
it gets worse! dumb, dumb Abbey!

We shop at Tescos. Sometimes Sainsbury's but not often.
At Christmas we get some stuff in Marks and Spencers.

we shop at asda only because my b/f works there and we get 10% off!!!!
I work opposit Asda, so use that for every day things. I try to avoid buying fruit and veg from the supermarket as I find it poor quality and I dont eat frozen veg its wrong!!!
well, we go to sainsburys, somerfield, tescos and waitrose. but we buy our meat and fruit and veg from independent shops to support local trade

we have a thriving shopping road with lots of butchers and greengrocers aswell
Asda to do my main shop, though I also go to Tescos each week to top up and also to a local farm shop to get my veg and eggs!!

In Holland they do not have a TESCO/ASDA ( man I wish they did tho ) so we go to Lidl and Aldi ..Food shopping in Holland is not much fun,, the choices are sooooooo limited and the quanities so small..I am used to the varieties that are offered in the USA,,I miss 16 ounce steaks.. the ones here are no bigger than 7-8 ounces.. and asking them for one that is 16 ounces are bigger will have u laughed out of the butcher shop :moonie: :rotfl: Finding a turkey is a joke around the holidays..their idea of a turkey is the size of a chicken ....:cartman:

Tesco's - strange topic!
in manchester at the start of the month and part way through theres a farmers market and the food there is delicious!
I love farmers markets. We have quite a few near us, because we're central to a lot of areas where i live. The food is lovely!
borough market in london sounds good... does anyone know what its like?
I think i've been to that one, but i'm not sure. Most the ones i've been to have been great
i saw it on a tv programme

tesco's sainsburys and asda so i didnt vote
Our sainsburys is expanding soon, but it has everything at the minute, so i dont know what its going to include as extra
maybe clothes and electronics, like tesco extras possibly?
That would be good. They are already a pretty big shop but its the cheap clothes and stuff i guess they are missing. They're sacrificing part of the car park though
we have an absolutely ginormous one near us, but they added a bit on, so they might have to knock some of it down
i use sommerfeild
im used to used kwik save which was embarassing, but not theyve changed their name ot sommerfield, it sounds a lot better and dont make me sound cheap!

That's a brilliant idea! Why not get paid for something you enjoy doing :)
yeah, it's good most of the time, but if its hot and you get sunburnt then its not so nice, or if you do 5 hours and don't get paid... that isn't great!!

any where. they are all relativly near but we normally go to Asda or Sainsbury's. my dad hates Tesco... i dunno why. :hmm:
strange, maybe it;s because they are taking over the world
:lol seems like they are!! They're everywhere!!
yeah! there are 5 in a 5 mile radius of my house!
They even sell clothes now! And Electric stuff, as well as food, drinks, DVD's ETC. You need'ant go anywhere else!
i know. it's really bad isn't it?
Too right! Maybe we should start a petition :rotfl:
yeah... there are too many people that use it though... we can't change them and make them go to other places
We normally use Asda or Morrisons.
I don't even know where there IS a waitrose! I assume they're more down south?
theres one in sandbach. and they're building one near me. i think they are coming up north though...
I always remember seeing them in Newcastle, and thats up north so...

I mainly shop in tesco's as its opened 24 hours, and use asda as a top up. We have a lidls near by which sells some tasty german sausages.
Always Asda - open 24 hrs, can get 2 stuffed full trolleys for £200 including clothes etc - fills up my 3 freezers for 6 weeks - brilliant place!

Lucky you.. everything is so expensive in Ireland... for that we would get a week shopping and still have to go out for extras

I'm very economical lol - with 3 kids and a gannit for a hubby I've learnt to be shrewd over the years lol
I still have to do weekly top ups of fresh stuff etc, which I mainly get at the local farm shop, but otherwise its not too bad
I think my big problem is that I am in a relatively new area so there is no butcher or fruit/veg shop so I have to pay supermarket prices on those. I never use to shop in Lidl but discovered the food is just as good as any other supermarket and they do a good selection of german food so keep the boyf happy too
I agree siobhan Lidl is good its not nasty like everyone says and its cheap. I have had to started buying for myself and i go there, otherwise i go to the Co op. As they are local.
I usually go to what ever shop im near to as well. Dont have a favourite.
We use Somerfield, but I think it is a bad shop. It never stocks anything we want, but my Mum doesn't want to have to find her way around a new supermarket. She goes in Sainsburys occasionally, so I think she should go in there - it's just over the road from Somerfield.

Our Asda is only open until 10  Don't know if that's just for winter?? Only arrived last year.. I love Asda though hehe, dunno why. Mother goes to Tesco mainly, Asda occasionaly, Somerfield if she walks up town..
I don't know if it still exist but when I was living in sheffield I use to go to Netto's.. is was dirt cheap, got a weeks shopping for £10
It does still exist Like Peter Kay always says, Trolley dash in Netto, get to the counter and your trolleys is overflowing and the total price comes to £11 quid or something ridiculas.
I went to Kwik save the other day thats quite good as well, but one minutes its Kwik Save then Somerfield the Kwik Save again, very confusing.

id never heard of nettos til i came to uni, one of my mates does all his shopping there, its good for named brands cos you can get them really cheap but i dont really buy stuff from there, it always looks too much like a jumble sale lol and you have to spend ages trying to find a tin without a dent in!

Tesco. Asda's rubbish, it never has anything in stock!
Tesco has been getting really expensive lately. Morrisons is good for cooked meat. Much better than the rubbish Tesco get with 15% added water in everything.
Thank you for recommending Lidil.
I popped in on Wednesday and got a nice bottle of chablis and a box of chocs for £7!!!! Both now consummed and no complaints at all.
I usually shop in Morrisons, but I also frequent Sainsburys and Waitrose if I am in the area (they don't have a store in my town, but I spend so much time in Edinburgh I am thinking of moving).

I went to my local Morrisons this week, I don't use it too often, one of the reasons being the you can never find what you are looking for. Its badly laid out, and has a poor/limited choice of products.
I am as a rule a Tesco type of gal and its open 24/7!!! Though I do (normally when just been paid) use M&S food Hall quite frequently too!
