Casualty – Holding On: Part One 8.20-9.10pm BBC ONE
The new series of Casualty returns to BBC One with a bang when an unstable block of flats built on an old mine shaft, containing asylum seekers, collapses.
Maggie’s daughter, Joanne, was teaching English in one of the flats and is trapped underneath the rubble.Tess hears a baby crying and goes to investigate. But she slips down the shaft and becomes trapped with a refugee called Mero.Will they be rescued in time?
Meanwhile, Maggie is not pleased when she sees new nurse Bruno. They have worked together in the past and there is tension between the two of them. However, Bruno is shocked when he hears that Maggie’s husband Steve is dead.
Joanne is brought into hospital and Bruno decides to make a secretive phone call. Later, Bruno greets Steve Coldwell, a prisoner who arrives in a prison van…

Maggie’s son Jamie is shocked to discover that his father is alive and has been in prison for years – and that Maggie lied to him – as the hit medical drama’s special two-part series opener concludes. Steve talks to Maggie and tries to convince her that he has changed but she is not interested. Maggie confronts Bruno, demanding to know why he interfered and called the prison. But when Joanne awakes and asks Steve to stay, Jamie sees what he thinks is a family reunion and storms off. He tells Maggie he is leaving home.
Trapped in the old mine shaft,Tess and Mero try to keep their sprits up.The rescue workers pull Tess out to safety, but Mero falls down the shaft.Tess is hysterial and clings to Sam. At the hospital, she is in shock and cannot believe Mero is dead. However, he is later brought in and the pair are reunited.

I've just saw a clip on the BBc site and it looks pretty good.
I hope Selena will be okay too.. she's my fav character within the show adn she has to fall in love with Harry :wub:

i cant wait for tonight it was such a great episode. What a way to start the new series. I cant wait to see how jamie reacts after finding out his dads not dead. I really hope tess and maggies daughter are ok.
Also is the guy that plays baz in grange hill the same guy that plays maggies son jamie. I really think it is but im not sure.

Bruno was wrong to call Maggie's husband, but i think it was right that he should know his daughter was in a bad condidtion.
The Trisha comments had me in stitches epceically the last one she made and Harry was like 'Kelsey' or somehting like that.
Poor Tess though, the bit in the preview where she calls sam is so sad
the trisha comments really made me laugh. I really like that new nurse kelsey. Not to keen on bruno though. only 4 hours to go till the next episode.

Sam was so good. I felt so sorry for him when tess came out from the mineshaft thing. It was so sweet.

I really think Guppy and Harry are always going to be butting heads, I dislike Bruno big time !!! I missed the first part,, so can any one tell me what exactly is Brunos beef against Maggie ??? :searchme: The mine shaft with Mero and Tess was outstanding,, and was even better when it turns out Mero was alive ( think we may be getting a new character ??) :searchme:
i dont know what exactly his problem with maggie is. All i know is they used to be nurses together. Maybe he has a grudge the fact shes a doctoer

ORRRRRRRR it could be that Maggie didn't wanna play with him and hes still ticked off with her for rejecting him ??? I am sure as we get into the new series we will find out more about this Bruno person ( who appears to be a pretty good nurse on the other hand ):searchme:
