Coronation Street will confirm the identity of Joel Deering's killer next week.

The ongoing mystery will be resolved in a special episode due to air on Friday, November 15.

Fans have been busy speculating over who is responsible for Joel's grisly fate after his body was found in a river last month.

A post-mortem revealed that Joel was already dead when he hit the water, having suffered blows to the head from an attacker with a crowbar.

In recent weeks, Corrie has aired brief flashback scenes showcasing the motives and whereabouts of several major suspects on the night that Joel was killed.

The show's episode on November 15 will now fill in the blanks, with further flashbacks shown amid some intense police questioning from DC Kit Green.

The official synopsis for the episode reads: "In this exciting episode, a series of flashbacks from the night of Joel's murder are interspersed with Kit's police interviews as the viewers finally get the view from the bridge and discover who delivered the final blow that really killed Joel."

In the meantime, this week's episodes see Dee-Dee Bailey confess to her father Ed that she's the one who killed Joel, although with more twists and turns ahead beyond that, it's highly likely that there's more to the story that she's currently unaware of.

Other key suspects who have been named so far include Mason Radcliffe, Ed Bailey, Ronnie Bailey, DS Lisa Swain and Carla Connor.

Kit himself is also a suspect, as he's keeping his own sly secrets over the evening of Joel's death.

Coronation Street airs the big reveal episode on Friday, November 15 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe faces worrying consequences next week after taking pity on Mason Radcliffe.

Tim faces a nasty altercation with Mason's thuggish brothers after giving him a place to stay.

This week's episodes see Tim discover that Mason has been secretly sleeping in his shed because he's homeless.

Tim struggles to find Mason a suitable place to stay, so he tells the troublesome teenager that he can sleep on the sofa at No. 4. However, Tim warns him that his wife Sally must never find out.

In follow-on scenes next week, Tim may already be regretting his decision to let Mason into the family home.

Tim is horrified as his car has been stolen alongside a ring that belonged to Sally's mother. Sally berates Tim for allowing Mason into their home, which sparked this mess.

When Tim spots Mason hanging around with his brothers Matty and Logan, he storms over and confronts them.

Matty and Logan laugh in Tim's face, but Tim senses that Mason is scared of his older siblings.

Later, Tim answers a knock at the door from Mason. Sally takes decisive action, grabbing Mason and calling the police to report the thefts. But how involved was Mason in what happened?

A couple of days later, Tim and Sally's car is thankfully found by the police following an anonymous tip-off.

Mason apologises to Tim for bringing so much trouble to his door, but then accidentally lets slip that he's the one who tipped off the police over where to find the missing vehicle.

How will Tim react? And will Tim and Sally remain targets for Mason's criminal siblings?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, November 11 and Wednesday, November 13 on ITV1 and ITVX.

David decides not to tell Shona about the messages and he later goes a step further by deleting them before she can read them.

Next week, David decides to confide in his brother Nick Tilsley about the troubling situation, explaining that Clayton has sent a prison visiting order. Once again, David feels torn between his hatred towards Clayton and his loyalty to Shona.

Nick suggests that it's best for David to tell Shona the truth, as she's bound to find out what's going on in the long run.

Still determined to do things his own way, David forms a plan and visits Clayton in prison ? but will he tell Shona what he's up to?

Later in the week, there's yet more stress for David when he returns home and finds Shona in a bad way.

An upset Shona explains that Clayton has now been admitted to hospital ? but what has happened at the prison to cause this?

Coronation Street star Julia Goulding has confirmed that Clayton Hibbs will try to take his own life in an emotional new storyline.

Julia's character Shona Platt receives the upsetting news about her jailed son in big scenes next week.

This week's episodes see Shona's husband David secretly read emails and letters from the prison regarding Clayton, who killed his first wife Kylie in 2016.

David chooses to keep Shona in the dark about what's going on, but secretly goes to see Clayton himself after receiving a visiting order.

After a tense conversation between David and Clayton in the visiting room, news later reaches the Street that Clayton has been admitted to hospital.

Speaking about the new storyline, Julia explained: "The police visit [Shona] at work and tell her he is in hospital. She races home in a blind panic, is upset and apprehensive to even mention Clayton in front of David.

"Also they've got lots going on in the family, but seeing Clayton becomes her priority so she races to hospital. She doesn't think twice about that.

"Clayton doesn't want to see her and is very angry. Unbeknown to her, she has been contacted by him and the prison, so she is very confused. He screams at her to get out. She can't understand why and just wants to be with her son.

"At this point, she knows he has tried to take his own life but can't work out why and why she wasn't told."

Julia warned that there could be major repercussions for Shona and David's marriage if she finds out that he played a role in blocking her access to her son in the lead-up to this incident.

She said: "Jack [P Shepherd, who plays David] and I are very much on our own characters' sides in this. We've had barneys in the green room about who's right.

"When Shona finds out her husband has been gaslighting her and had a part in Clayton trying to take his own life, I dread to think what she's going to do. But I don't think she'll take it lying down.

"There's going to be a lot of anger and pain, a possibility they could destroy each other. There's a lot of change already for David ? his mum is leaving, the house might get sold, stress with the stolen money which Shona doesn't know about yet, it's like living in a washing machine!

"The sad thing is they've been so solid for so long, Shona is David's final crutch. But he's destroyed it himself, in my opinion. I really am Team Shona in this!"

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, November 13 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Coronation Street will air a live ITVX special following the revelation of Joel Deering's murderer.

The soap has spent the last several weeks teasing how Joel died on September 27 ? with Mason Radcliffe, Ed Bailey, Ronnie Bailey, DS Lisa Swain, Carla Connor, DS Kit Green and Dee-Dee Bailey emerging as official suspects.

ITV has now confirmed viewers will finally get their answers next Friday (November 15) from 8pm with an hour-long episode, followed by a special after-show, Coronation Street Live - Killer on the Cobbles, on ITVX at 9pm.

This Morning's soap expert Sharon Marshall will be joined from the cobbles by Coronation Street cast members to share their reactions to the killer twist.

The soap has also added two new suspects to the line-up, as it will be revealed that Max Turner and Lauren Bolton will have some questions to answer about the night Joel died.

A new flashback will shed more light on Carla's whereabouts at the time of Joel's death, as she was previously shown spotting someone mysterious outside of the factory.

An upcoming flashback scene, airing in Monday's (November 11) episode, will reveal that Carla had actually seen Max and Lauren. Viewers will have to tune in to find out why Max and Lauren were outside the factory in the dead of night.

Lauren would certainly have reason to want Joel dead since he had been threatening her over the custody of their newborn son Frankie before his demise.

It was revealed earlier in the year that Lauren temporarily fled the cobbles to escape Joel's horrific abuse, sparking an investigation into whether she'd been killed.

Since coming back to Weatherfield, Lauren has formed an even stronger bond with ex-boyfriend Max as the soap has teased a potential romantic reunion for the pair.

Do Lauren and Max have a deadly secret?

Coronation Street has confirmed a major episode change for the reveal of Joel Deering?s killer in this Friday?s episode (November 15).

The ITV soap will air a special episode with a series of flashbacks from that fateful night interspersed with Kit?s police interview, and viewers will finally discover who is behind Joel?s death.

In October, ITV changed the way they release both Corrie and Emmerdale, with the latest episodes of both soaps dropping on ITVX each morning at 7am.

While the new instalments continue to air in their traditional ITV1 slots that evening, the channel has made the change to give viewers more flexibility in how they watch their favourite soaps.

However, for this Friday?s upcoming special episode, there will be a big change where fans will have to wait a little longer for the exciting reveal.

Corrie has confirmed to Digital Spy that Friday?s hour-long episode will not be released early on ITVX, with the 8pm ITV1 broadcast being the first chance fans will get to see the thrilling outcome of Joel?s murder investigation.

Last week, it was also announced that there will be a live special airing on ITVX at 9pm following the big reveal, titled Coronation Street Live ? Killer on the Cobbles.

Hosted by Sharon Marshall, soap writer and star of This Morning, the show will be broadcast live from the cobbles, with exclusive interviews from cast members who will share their reactions to the killer twist.

Monday?s instalment of Corrie saw DS Lisa Swain arrested for Joel?s murder, after her CS spray was found near the confirmed murder weapon.

But convinced that Lisa isn?t responsible for the crime, Carla suddenly remembered that on the night of Joel?s death, she spotted Max and Lauren putting a suitcase into a car ? with Joel?s own suitcase still yet to be found by the police.

As the week continues, Lisa tells Carla that she thinks someone planted her CS spray and she is being framed by the real murderer.

Lisa decides to retrace her steps and find out who could have stolen her spray, but will this lead her to the killer?
