Ricky Gervais has landed a role in Christopher Guest's latest project, For Your Consideration.
Written and directed by the Spinal Tap star, the film will be mostly improvised and will also star Eugene Levy, Michael McKean and Catherine O'Hara.
Gervais plays a studio boss who believes that his awful film is in the running for awards when a rumour begins on the internet.
Filming begins in October in Los Angeles.
