Kate is the undercover cop who marriad Phil then, but had dated Dennis in Brighton years before then when Phil went on the run she ran a nail salon with Chrissie doing the hair and then Kate had an affair with Dirty Den which then led to Chrissie chopping off Kate hair in the salon, then Kate left to rejoin the police back in Newcastle or Brighton somewhere.
