Home and Away spoilers: With River Boys as back-up, Mali seeks to get square with the Allens
Street fight.

Summer Bay sees the return of the River Boys in Home and Away ? only this time, the surf-gang members aren?t the ones out for blood.

As the Allen family continue to turn the Bay upside down in the search for their money, their trail of destruction hits too close to home for Mali (Kyle Shilling). His older brother ? troublemaker Iluka (Dion Williams) ? is missing, and Mali believes the Allens are holding him captive.

And when Iluka is dropped off bloodied and bruised, Mali has no choice but to take matters into his own hands ? or fists ? and challenges the crooked family to meet him on a secluded street for an old-fashioned street fight.

?The only thing on Mali?s mind is that he has to stick up for his family,? Kyle, 28, tells TV WEEK. ?He wants to show they?re not taking the situation lightly. He?s willing to do anything for his brother.?

Mali puts in a call to his old mate Dean (Patrick O?Connor), who arranges for two River Boys ? Dingo (JK Kazzi) and Rory (Joshua Orpin) ? to accompany Mali to the rendezvous.

With the River Boys behind him, Mali faces off with Gordie Allen (Brandon McClelland), going blow for blow. But when Nat Allen (Claire Lovering) pulls a knife from her pocket, Mali realises how serious things could get.

?Mali has really reached his breaking point,? Kyle explains. ?He?s on the brink of seeing red. No-one knows the extent a person would go to while they?re at that heightened point of anger.?

As things look as if they?re about to reach a dangerous climax, a police vehicle speeds to a stop. Cop Rose (Kirsty Marillier) can?t believe that the street brawl she?s there to stop involves her boyfriend Mali.

Is there a way out of this for him or has Mali finally taken things too far?

Meet Summer Bay's new bad boy! Hollywood actor set to star on Home and Away

And from The Daily Telegraph:

"Summer Bay bad boy: Meet the new heart-throb on Home and Away, Joshua Orpin
There is a new bad guy in Summer Bay - meet the latest hottie to join the cast of TV soap Home and Away. You may recognise him from a major international show

He's an Australian actor better known for his work overseas than on home soil - meet Joshua Orpin, the new Summer Bay bad boy.

The 29-year-old will make his Home and Away debut over the coming months with character details under wraps for now.

"One of the reasons I was keen to do this gig was because of that, I have worked internationally and I have been quite homesick, especially over Covid where I wasn't able to come back to Australia even when I wasn't working," Orpin told The Daily Telegraph. "I was really keen to get stuck into some Aussie stuff. It isn't about being known here as the driving motivator but I really wanted to get stuck into some Aussie shows, film and TV and this came along and I thought it was the perfect opportunity."

Orpin is best known for playing Conner Kent, or Superboy, a genetic clone of Superman and Lex Luther, in juggernaut US show, Titans.

He has been based out of the US and Canada for the past few years with his other acting credits including smaller parts in Preacher, Love Me, Upright, and The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

The fast pace of Home and Away was different to anything Orpin has worked on before. While other shows shoot an episode a week or even a few weeks, the TV soap films 12 hour days, six days a week to create five half-hour episodes each week.

"I wasn't sure really what to expect," said Orpin. "It is incredibly fun, it is just an adjustment for someone who hasn't worked in this style of TV before because it is just fast and the amount of television that they produce in terms of volume and in the time frame that they do it is remarkable. Being part of that, you have to be fast, efficient and really on top of things. It certainly sharpens you up and improves your skills so I am glad for it."

He couldn't say too much about his character.

"I can say he is a bit of a bad boy who comes into the show and stirs up some trouble among the Summer Bay locals," he explained. "He is seemingly one thing on the surface but he has a great depth to him that I've had a lot of fun exploring." "

What do we know about the newcomer?

https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/home-and-away-joshua-orpin/

The River Boys have returned to Home And Away, with newcomer Joshua Orpin leading the charge as the latest bad boy Rory.

Summer Bay residents have met their fair share of River Boys over the years, but viewers will meet the newbie when Mali tracks his brother down to free him from the Allen siblings.

In the latest teaser, Rory is seen with Mali and Dingo (JK Kazzi), however it is believed he won?t be in the show for very long. While we?ve only seen a glimpse of the newcomer, what do we know about his actor Joshua Orpin?

Despite being born and raised in Melbourne Australia, his role in Home and Away is an opportunity for Joshua to return home after working overseas in countless roles.

Joshua is best recognised for his role as Conner Kent otherwise known as Superboy in the second season of Titans, a DC Comics? action-adventure television series. The show was filmed in Canada, where Joshua has previously revealed to 7News he felt ?homesick quite a lot.?

?I feel like the US stuff is big and exciting, but I think that I just really had this strong desire to be a part of the Australian film and TV landscape,? he told the publication.

Aside from Titans, the 30-year-old has starred in The Neon Spectrum, and The Blake Mysteries.

And while Joshua is bound to steal hearts as the latest River Boy member, Summer Bay fans will be disappointed to discover someone has already stolen his heart.

Based on an Instagram post, Joshua met his partner Sally in 2014 and celebrated ten years together in April 2024.

?This professional commitment quickly blossomed into a reluctant friendship, and eventually something much more than that? Permanent housemates,? he wrote on Instagram. ?10 long years (and 19 contract renewals) later we have never been happier!?

?Gurl are u a 4.5 billion year old oblong spheroid orbiting the sun at 107,000 km per hour? Cause ur my world.?

Home and Away newcomer addresses surprise exit from soap
"I hope you've enjoyed having him around these past few weeks."

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/home-and-away/a61760962/home-away-rory-templeton-joshua-orpin-exit/

Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian-paced episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away star Joshua Orpin has addressed his character Rory Templeton's surprise exit from the soap.

In scenes that have aired in Australia already, River Boy Rory arrived in Summer Bay as part of Mali Hudson and his brother Iluka's ongoing storyline.

After Iluka was beaten and hospitalised by the dangerous Allen family for stealing money from them, Mali arranged to meet the family face-to-face to put an end to their reign of terror.

Shortly after, he called up his friend Dean Thompson, who used to be involved with the River Boys gang, for reinforcement. Mali is soon backed up by two River Boys ? David 'Dingo' Lewis and Rory.

However, Orpin's guest stint on the show is now over. Posting on Instagram, he confirmed his character's fate, writing: "Tonight we say goodbye to Rory as he departs Summer Bay for greener pastures... And by greener pastures, I mean the oppressive concrete pastures of a tiny prison cell.

"I'd be lying if I said he doesn't entirely deserve it! Nonetheless, I hope you've enjoyed having him around these past few weeks."

Orpin added that joining the show was "an utter privilege", and praised the soap's "enormously talented and hard-working" cast and crew.

"What an honour to make my own small contribution to the storied legacy of this iconic Australian TV series!" he continued.

"Don't know if we'll ever see Rory again, but I'm sure the River Boys will make their return to the bay sooner or later..."

In scenes that aired this week in Australia, Cash arrested Dingo as part of an investigation into the murder of Mangrove River police officer Franklin McGrath.

Cash, who's recently returned to policing, found evidence that linked Dingo to the crime. However, when Rory heard news of the arrest, he rushed to the station to make his own statement.

Following Rory's arrest, Cash's sister Felicity Newman was left feeling dubious about the authenticity of his statement, questioning whether the man she has been falling in love with could truly be a killer.

Meanwhile, Home and Away viewers in the UK will get to see Rory's storyline from next week onwards.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
