Baby Poppy may have left Summer Bay, but she's certainly not forgotten - especially by Roo, who has been so inspired by Poppy's story, she's decided to apply to become an emergency foster carer for any kids who might be in a similar position in the future.

It's not a new idea to the Bay, where foster kids have a long history of finding a fresh start, so she's surprised when Alf (Ray Meagher) isn't as enthusiastic as she'd hoped.

"It's just "one of Roo's little projects" he says in a phone call Roo (Georgie Parker) overhears, and something he's not sure his daughter will actually commit to.

Outraged, Roo confronts her dad and explains this is much more than a whim, but he may need convincing.
