Dana, We hardly knew ye: Finally, the plotline that has been refusing to develop for weeks started to move. As many of you may have noted, Dana is a unisex first name ( well in the USA maybe), and the mysterious baby Dana that's been fussed about turns out to be ... Zach. Mrs. Huber's sister Felicia discussed it with him over banana bread, and later we see him paging through an old photo album of hers. Earlier in the episode, Zach/Dana had covered for his dad when police came to the door inquiring about the body in the chest. Zach lied that their chest had been destroyed years ago, but then confronted his dad about the cops saying that a woman's body being found in it. Seems Paul told Zach a private detective came to take him away as a child and " we couldn't let that happen." :hmm:

Oh, baby: We learn from an early voice over by Mary Alice, that Gabrielle is about to become pregnant. We all know that Carlos switched his wife's birth-control pills some time ago, but as we see her with both Carlos and teen lover John, the question is clear: who's the daddy?
:searchme:

Mommy dearest: Susan's own strange relationship with daughter Julie makes a little more sense when we meet Susan's own mother, Sophie, She's a bit loopy herself. Susan learns that her mom and Morty, the man her mom is dating, are on the outs, and is desperate to get them back together for fear Sophie will have no choice but to move in with her. :)

Gay old time: Bree and Rex are preparing to visit Andrew at Camp Hennessey when Bree suffers a maternal existential crisis: she doesn't know her son's favourite colour, and extrapolates from that, that she dosen't know him at all. And she may be right: when Andrew finally confesses to his parents that he is gay, his mother, for once, is a loss for words. :cheer:

Spare the rod: Lynette dumps her terrors off on Bree, but the4n is horrified to learn that one of them was spanked. As she later confesses to Tom:" my mother beat the hell out of me and my sisters and i won't do it." Yet by the end of the hour, she seems to be separating her own childhood abuse from the matter at hand, realising that the boys actually do behave when threats aren't just empty words. :nono:

I loved it when Lynette realised that the threat of spanking from her wasn't working anymore - she had never followed it through, so now she says, "If you don't stop it I will take you to Mrs Van de Kemp - and you know what she does when she's mad!" It worked a dream!
