View Full Version : Charlie to attempt escape to the allotment
Walford cabbie Charlie Slater (Derek Martin) decides enough is enough with his hectic family life and looks for an escape route for a bit of peace and quiet. In the coming weeks, he'll adopt the Fowler allotment when Pauline decides she can no longer look after it properly.
Everything looks 'rosy' until friends Jim Branning (John Bardon) and Patrick Truman (Rudolph Walker) burst his bubble. Jim is keen to escape the nagging of wife Dot (June Brown) while Patrick feels the same toward his wife Yolande (Angela Wynter).
Before Charlie knows it, he's back to Square one - literally.

Poor Charlie, you can't blame the guy for wanting to get a bit of peace and quiet can you. I can just picture Jim and Patrick turning up with their 4 packs etc....

Maybe Charlie could get a new love interest in his life.
For a while it looked like him and Peggy might get together or him and Pat :)

(shudders) fat pat) i like the idea of him and peggy tho
It would be nice if Charlie had some romance, but no doubt Mo would want to vet them, which could put anyone off!!! :D
Sounds good, I liked the scenes with Jim, Charlie and Patrick when they were arranging Dennis's stag night.

dennis' face when that male stripper entered....brilliant, they should have known not to trust billy with that!
(shudders) fat pat) i like the idea of him and peggy thoThey've sort of had the basis for a relationship before these two if you remember. However Peggy was with fat Harry the pervert and Charlie was quite gutted about it :)

interesting thought..... how come Charlie never looked at Pauline "romantically" ????? did any one ever think about that one or is Pauline just too neurotic for Charlie ????
