Hi,, I figured I should start a new thread, cos a few of us got a bit off the point in another thread.. firstly I met my husband in a chat area back in 1999, we met 9 times before I married him and moved over from America to Holland ,, So if you want to discuss meeting people off line, I think this may be the place to do it.. :)

yay i managed to find the other topic lol! :D
The only person i have met from an online chat room was actually a guy who lived a few streets away. We only really said hi when passing. Got chatting in a room one night and we talked for a good few months before we figured out who we where

Thats cool,, i think its sort of fun,, but scary at the same time...just so long u use COMMON SENSE and keep a COOL HEAD.. and have enuff money on your mobile.. and STAY IN AN OPEN PUBLIC PLACE if you are alone..but I do not suggest you meet any one ALONE .. always bring some one with you with a bit more common sense :rotfl:

never been on one
I haven't but i know a few people that have met up with people from chat rooms. They dont really do it much any more, because its one thing chatting to someone in a chatroom, but when you meet face-to-face they said it feels different- more ackward. Not only when a female meets a male, but when they meet someone of the same sex.

well lets just look at things closer,, the woman is the blame,, she should not have crossed the line,, If her marriage was solid to begin with she should have not taken this any further with this bloke ( love this term) I have known many women in the states who have left their comfortable homes, husband, childern and security for men like u described,, it all boils down to common sense,, some men can paint such a rosey picture of "what life can be with me" and the woman falls for it,, its a trap that can be set on any woman who is feeling insecure and "un loved" in her marriage,, I was divorced 8 years when I met my husband on line, he didn't build me any castles in the air.. he was a straight shooter,, i lucked out with him,, :) I feel bad for every woman who is led astray by the men on the internet who suckers them into believing they will be showered with every thing imaginable ... hope the gal is Ok now,,,

What was wrong with the deaf guy ???? :searchme: I am a strong advocate for deaf people and I am curious,, what happened ?? :searchme: didn't he tell your friend that he was deaf ???:searchme: I understand the biggest barrier of a deaf person is communication,, its bad when people run from them gives them a complex that they are sub human .. its sad :crying: but like every one else Deaf people are HUMANS too :D
I am still in close contact with alot of my on line buddies, in fact we are driving up to Vancouver Canada to see 2 people I havent met yet, my partner is keen so as long as he is beside me I can meet any one :D

Well my friend obvioulsy knew he was deaf but never actually told any of us until we got there, we was also like 14/15 years of age and he turned out to be like 30 odd. There was nothing wrong with him, i have nothing against deaf people. But like i said i think he felt really intimidated by all these girls when he thought he was just meeting my friend, i think it was a good job though considering his age and ours

Yeah i know, hey trust me me and my friends were complete mad heads back then, we did anything and everything, ever seen the film 13? If you have you will know what i mean about us doing anything and everything, that was like watching my life back at that age, scared the living daylights out of me. Id never do anything like that now, meet people off the net unless i totally trusted them and had known them for years and spoke on the phone etc. Id never advise it either

Back when I was just learning my way around the internet, and meeting a few people here and there, One guy really got my attention, he sent me his picture to my e mail address,, he was a nice looking man.. he said he was xx years old, had been divorced for a few years had a grown daughter and a grand child,, figured why not,, so I told my sons University class mate I was going to meet him in a nice place to eat,, he said he would go along just in case,, so off I went,, it was raining cats and dogs,, so I went in,, looked around and this OLD MAN IN A POLYESTER liesure suit ( straight from the 60's) gets up he had to be at least 75 yrs old:eek:   he had a big bouquet of long stemmed roses, a big box of fancy candy and a book of poetry for me,, I looked at my sons friend he mouthed go ahead ill sit behind u.. so i sat down we started talking,, and I was a bit miffled cos he had lied about his age etc,, so after lunch,, I thanked him for the flowers candy and book and left,, now remember it was raining,, so my sons friend leaves to go back to his apartment .. i get in my car,, and start driving off to my place,, i get up to my apartment,, my door buzzer rings,, I turn on the CCTV to see who was at the door, it was that guy EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK. he had followed me all the way home.. he told some one who was coming out the door he was my long lost Uncle,, the dumb guy let the old geezer in...I get on the phone and call my neighbor who is a cop..the cop comes up as the guy was ringing my door bell,, asks him who he is,, he tells the cop that he is my uncle,, my dog is barking his head off, so I go to the door, the cop is there in a heated arguement with the guy.. and he says something to me like oh honey its been so long hwo are u remember your uncle al ?? or something like that,, I was dumbstruck,,,
Any way the cop obviously knew the guy was lying thru his teeth,, so tells the guy to leave,,
I moved to another town soon after this,, and the guy never contacted me again,, but gals i tell ya he was pathetic,, later on about a year later.. a friend of mine in a few towns over,, meets him on line too,, he gave her the same song and dance he gave me,, i told her to GIVE HIM THE OLD HEAVE HO,, she did ... soooooo thats my story and I am stickin to it :p

ok we will call my sons buddy Jimmy... ok Jimmy meets up with this gal named Bonnie ( not her real name ) on line, they strike up a convo,, and they talk into wee hours of the morning, they have agreed to meet up for dinner,, Jimmy calls me and asks me to come over and help him pick out an outfit to wear,, he said this gal was really classy,, so I drive over and step over all his clothes on the floor ( typical bachelor ) and finally find him something that will look nice ,, so he asks if I wanted to go along as his older sister ( we do look alike even tho we are not related) Well the woman pulls up in a white convertable,, she gets out shes all blonde blue eyed and HUGE... Jimmy looks at me and I look at him,, I said Well its your call..... he said oh what the hell lets find out,, Bonnie was sweet and all that butttttttttt I find out 3 or 4 nights later she is actually married with 2 kids,, and was just looking for a bit on the side,, well Jimmy ( like most men ) was like OKKKKKKKKK,, she turned him into a giglo,,she bought him clothes, took him to all the cool concerts, flew to New York to see some broad way shows ( yes she had alot of money, her husbands money ) went to Jamaica ( her hubby is only home 3 days out of a month due to his job so she was "lonely" ) all of this was fine, then one day, Jimmy came over and told me he had to stop seeing her, I said then tell her , I told him u should ahve stopped after she told u she was married,,, Now Jimmy left out WHYYYYY he wanted to stop seeing her........ to be contiuned ( gotta fix dinner )

Oooo lol this sounds good
My friend is getting married to someone she met on-line they've been together 2 years now so it can work out I suppose!
I've had a few weird experiences I met this guy and we got talking and he sent me a picture and I thought mmm I like him I wouldn't mind a bit of that and then we were talking on the phone one night and I was really ill and he told me to go and visit him and he would give me a special massage. I said it was too late to be driving but I agreed to go and see him the next day. So the next day off I went and when I got there I was pleasently surprised! He looked exactly the same as he did on the picture, I was kind of preparing myself to come face to face with some fat baldy with impitiego!
Anyways he invited me in and we erm sort of well what is it we say? erm...well one thing led to another and then we were sort of on the bed and he was going to erm do something with his fingers and then I spotted it  a wart! On his finger...a wart
Well I had to make my excuse and get out of there I couldn't let him now I mean not with a wart on his finger and I sort of told him it was a mistake. He was really lovely about it, let me go home so atleast I got out of there alive.
Shame really because that could have been good but I just have a thing about warts
Here's a chatguide (http://www.bbc.co.uk/chatguide/) from the BBC.
If you are under 16, don't bother going to meet anyone as it can be highly dangerous. Unfortunatley not everyone heeds that advice, so if you must go:
Tell an adult
Go with a group of friends
Take your mobile
Stand somewhere where you can see the meeting point and then ring the person. That way you can see who answers and if its the person you expect.
A lot of forums have forum meets which is a better way to get to know people.

Cheers for posting GR!
We didn't have the internet when I was a child, I don't even think it existed :searchme:
Kids today, they've got it good!
Thanks for posting GR - its sooooo risky and unfortunately there are too many people about who groom younger people for all of the wrong reasons.

And I said I'm outside KFC so off he went and he said I'm there now what do you look like? I was in hysterics and it went on for ages!

No I didn't I actually felt sorry for him so I've been saying oh I love you too babes, we'll get married etc...
I've seen a pic of his anatomy, fairy deece actually but I can't be bothered with him I mean he's declaring his undying love for me despite the pic I sent him being a pic of Daniela Pestova!
He doesn't even know anything about me if I wasn't married I still wouldn't marry him!

Oh god dont talk about people loving you etc, i swear i always get lumbered with these young mixed up girls saying how much they fancy me and wanna meet me just because i replied and said hello to them!
Then my other "friend" cant seem to understand i just wanna be friends with her, fair enough i may flirt oaccasionally but bloody hell lol. Guess it is funny to wind them up sometimes
It's really scary having someone love you on-line!
I don't understand how someone can love you online - to me its like sex before marriage - if you don't what someone is truly like, how can you love them, just like if you aren't compatible sexually, and the spark isn't there, is it really going to work??
I used to phone somebody else I met on-line too and they would say my voice was sexy and that I should start my own sex line.
Another I used to phone I lost touch with because he knew the pic was of Daniela Pestova!

Ok finally Jimmy breaks off with Bonnie, and he still hasn't told me why.. Jimmy decides to go see his two sisters who lived in Scotland..I took him to the airport.. I was asking him on the way what really happened, he said he just started feeling like a kept man a MALE MISTRESS :searchme:  any way he goes ..4 months later I was returning home from a weeks vacation in Las Vegas.. there was a big envelope leaning against the front door...a note on front for m,e to call this gal after I read the contents inside,, Inside was 6 news papers,, each one was about Bonnies arrest.. she was called the Cocaine Queen.. she had been busted with a million dollars worth of white powder/ now heres the kicker...she was getting ready to make the deal ( the guy was really a Drug enforcement agent..working undercover) she asked the guy if he knew any one who would kill her husband for her for half of his life insurance... the guy was totally taken aback / so he tells her that he does know some one and he could call the person right now.. he told her to go home and come back in an hour at the motel where the cocaine deal was going down..Bonnie goes off,, the guy calls the whole thing in... here is what happened
Bonnie comes back,,, the guy has worked out a "deal" with a guy who will do it.. Bonnie says good.. here is my husbands picture, picture of his car/license plates (tags) his schedule,, the diagram of their home his private office the security alarm the whole bit,, the agent told her to give him 5 thousand dollars NOW,, so all this time this is being video taped from a pick up truck across the street..she gives him 5 thousand dollars at the cash machine..Mrsxxxxx u are under arrest for blah blah blah.......   part 3 to come soon

Ok Bonnie goes to jail... I call my son up to find out when Jimmy is to arrive back to Chicago.. i told him not to tell Jimmy what happened with Bonnie but to let him read the papers first ( now remember Jimmy has been in Scotland for 4 mos,, so he was totally out of touch with ppl in the USA )
We all meet up to have dinner in our favorite steak house,, I ask Jimmy if he had had any contact with Bonnie in the past 4-5 mos he said he hadn't so I plop the news papers in front of him, he was floored/shocked
So next morning he calls the police,, and said he had some sensitive info about Bonnie on his PC,, turns out Bonnie also asked Jimmy if he would kill her husband for him ( now I know why they broke up,,, )
To sum this up,, Bonnie went to court,, she got 45 years in prison, she will be an old old woman when she gets out.. of course her husband divorced her ( well duh the woman wanted to put out a contract on his life ) her kids have moved away with their dad ( some undisclosed location)
So thats the story of my sons buddy and his internet dame ....:D

I think they checked the computer in the first place, just in case it was a chat room thing, but it turned out it wasn't and Ian Huntley had got them back to his place somehow. Maxine Carr was his girlfriend.

that was her name
Though its not anymore is it, cause it was changed so she could live on the outside with no fear of any thing happening to her because of her involvement

I wish somebody would give her pain the cow
I just can't believe she is back on the outside enjoying a life of riley after her involvement in all of it, including covering up for him etc. Even if he was controlling, its no excuse. She should have been put away for a lot longer
its just not fair that she can get on with her life.getting all the help that she needs!!!
and he is in a state of the art jail getting what ever he wants!!!
I think the whole system is wrong, she's getting everything she wants and needs, he's got more inside than a lot of people in the UK, its like they're receiving privileges for killing them both - its all wrong!

you have read my mind!!!
And the worst thing about it - we are paying for their privileges!!! Arrrgghhh

ive always thought she had a lot more to do with the murders than she was letting on
it will be one of those things that we will never know!!
I think there was a deal somewhere.....

my ex-mate met someone on the internet. she was about 13 i think and she went on a school day to meet this person who was about 19 or something and she went on the bus/train for about 2hrs away from where we live. luckily she was alright, as she didnt tell anyone where she was going though we all had a good idea that she had gone to meet him. then a few weeks later, her mum met someone on the internet who lived in the same place as the person my mate met and so her mum would take her out of school at least one day every 2 weeks and they both went to visit them!

well her mum didnt know about it the first time but then she didnt mind. her mum let her do whatever she wanted. she had a mentally handicapped younger brother and her mum found him an annoyance and so let her dad look after him while her mum cleared off somewhere and so my ex-mate was allowed to do what she liked
