Jenny and Carla fail to persuade Audrey to hand over Stephen's journal. Daisy tells Jenny not to give up, as she deserves a cut of that money for what she went through and she could buy The Rovers back.

Daisy calls at the Bistro. Spotting all the Platts' coats hanging up, she forms a plan.

Having stolen David's keys, Daisy lets herself into No.8. She searches frantically for the journal but is forced to run upstairs when Audrey arrives back. Will she be found?

Meanwhile, with things still fraught at the Platts', Lily suggests they introduce a 'nice box' like they have at school, where the kids have to write nice things about each other and place them in the box and says Audrey will read out the comment. What could possibly go wrong?

Elsewhere, Peter reads a letter from the hospital and surreptitiously shoves it in his pocket. When Peter admits to Tim that he can't stop obsessing over Stephen's death, Tim reckons he needs a distraction and has an idea. In the hot tub at No.4, Tim advises Peter to forget thoughts of Stephen and focus on the good things in his life. Peter reckons it's easier said than done.

Peter confides in Tim that he's worried his relationship with Carla has run its course as these days she's totally preoccupied with the factory. Tim urges him not to give up.

Carla returns home with a date night supper for two and suggests they watch a film. Peter's pleased, until Carla gets a call telling her the factory alarm is going off and heads back out.

Also today, Debbie is shocked when Crystal reveals she and Ryan are moving to Glasgow.

Finally, Ed bets the Christmas dinner money Sarge gives him on a horse to try and pay off his payday loan.

Jenny approaches Carla and asks her if she'll lend her some money so that she can apply for a mortgage and buy the Rovers back.

What will Carla say?

Carla is surprised when, having said he is too busy to have lunch with her, she finds Peter cleaning the flat. Peter admits that he has arranged to meet the mother of the donor who provided him with a new liver and she's due round shortly.

Carla insists that she'll be by his side. Peter admits to Valerie that he's an alcoholic and her son's liver saved his life.

Later, an emotional Carla and Debbie wave Ryan off as he leaves for Glasgow. Daisy watches sadly as his taxi disappears from view.

Meanwhile, with Aggie unable to get home for Christmas, the family vow to make it special for Glory. Ed promises Sarge he will have the ?1k he promised to lend him.

Paul arrives with the cash they owe Ed, who is relieved he can finally pay Tony, but when Sarge finds him with the cash he assumes it is for him.

Ronnie takes everyone to the Bistro and hands Ed some cash to buy drinks. But unbeknownst to Ed, a furious Tony has spotted him apparently splashing the cash instead of paying him. Tony corners Ed and makes it clear he wants the money he's owed by tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Evelyn calls at No.9 and suggests to Tyrone he takes the girls to Norfolk to see Fiz while she spends Christmas with Roy. Realising that leaves Cassie on her own, Evelyn reluctantly invites her to join them.

In the caf?, Roy suffers a spasm in his back. Debbie helps him upstairs whilst Evelyn pops on a pinny and assures Roy she'll cover his shift. Cassie comes up with a gift idea from Roy to Evelyn.

Also today, Audrey interviews Maria, who describes her vision for the salon. Audrey seems impressed. Audrey interviews David, but he fails to take it seriously, leaving her annoyed. Who will she choose?

Desperate to get away from his problems and Tony's threats, Ed secretly packs a bag and tells Aggie that he is coming to spend Christmas with her in Birmingham.

As Ed opens the front door, he comes face to face with Tony, who menacingly barges his way into the house.

When Ed's phone rings with a call from Aggie, Tony threatens to tell her everything. Ed makes a grab for the phone, but Tony punches him, knocking him to the floor.

In the Bistro, Michael shows Ronnie and Sarge the watch he's bought Ed for Christmas, engraved with the words 'For the World's Best Dad. Our Hero'. Ronnie reckons it's perfect.

The Baileys return home to find Ed nursing a cut lip and all the presents gone. Dee-Dee calls the police and Craig goes over the details of the burglary with Ed, who says he forgot to lock the back door.

Meanwhile, when Peter reveals that he's got a support group meeting later, Carla offers to go with him. At the support group, Peter admits that he's lost all interest in life and every day has become a chore. Carla's left deeply concerned and heartbroken to realise the depth of his despair.

Michael calls at the factory to find Carla busy on her laptop. When Carla shows him the Christmas present she has bought Peter, Michael's flabbergasted.

Elsewhere, Roy confides in Cassie that he has located the Christmas present for Evelyn. Cassie insists that she'll accompany him on his shopping trip but when the Woody won't start Cassie comes up with a plan.

Also today, Jenny and Daisy tell Dee-Dee that they're off to the bank hoping to secure a loan to buy the Rovers. Back in The Kabin, they break the news to Brian and Mary that the bank agreed to the loan and the pub will soon be theirs. Jenny explains to Daisy that Waterfords have received another offer on the pub so they'll have to submit a sealed bid.

Finally, as Paul and Gemma head to No.5, Paul's wheelchair breaks down on the street. Gemma and Paul finally arrive at the concert in Victoria Garden only to find it over. Gemma's gutted but with some persuasion from Glenda, Joseph agrees to give an encore. Chesney calls at the flower shop flat for Joseph and the quads. Gemma's gutted, wishing they could stay longer.
