Home and Away bosses have announced that Tristan Gorey will join the show as new character Dr Levi.

The Australian actor, who is best known for his breakout role in the award-winning series Mystery Road: Origin, will first appear in The Bay on UK screens in the new year and Australian screens in early November.

A recently qualified Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Levi will land in Summer Bay "racing to save a Home and Away favourite".

Tristan was born in Perth, Western Australia and grew up with his parents, older brother and younger sister. He studied at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, where he was able to develop his talents for storytelling and dramatic performance.

After rising to fame as Texas on the hit Australian crime mystery series, Tristan has since narrated the Disney+ show Shipwreck Hunters and will make his anticipated film debut in Kid Snow in 2024.

The reveal of The Bay's newcomer comes after it was announced that Home and Away will be changing timeslots on Channel 5 for the rest of the year.

The show will be airing at the slightly earlier time of 1pm on weekdays from Monday, October 30 until the current series ends on Friday, November 17.

This change is a result of Channel 5 beginning its festive coverage, with holiday films scheduled to air from 1.30pm on weekdays in the build-up to Christmas.

Summer Bay fans can expect the show to return to its usual Channel 5 timeslot of 1.45pm on weekdays when the new series launches in the new year, just in time to welcome the newest member of the Home and Away family.

Home and Away will air weekdays at 1pm on Channel 5 until Friday, November 17 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6:30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Home And Away this week, a new doctor, Levi (Tristan Gorey), is called in to help save the life of a Summer Bay favourite. When he arrives, he finds Dr Bree Cameron (Juliet Godwin) and introduces himself.

His confidence leaves her assured he can help. "Levi is a driven, headstrong individual who believes hard work pays off," Tristan tells TV WEEK of his character.

"Like most surgeons, he loves what he does and relishes the opportunity to test himself at work."

As one of the best cardiothoracic surgeons around, all eyes are on him to save the day.

Dana (Ally Harris) who was recently injected with poison by a ruthless kidnapper, sings his praises ? Levi saved her life. But in a dire situation, can he do it again?

"The stakes are high, and if Levi can't figure out what the problem is, there may be serious consequences for one of Summer Bay's most-loved characters," Tristan says.

But despite Levi's reputation, not everyone is pleased to see him. As he adjusts to life in the Bay, it soon becomes clear he has links to people in town.

Home and Away introduces Eden Fowler's brother Levi to the show on UK screens next week.

Tristan Gorey has been cast in the role of Levi, who makes his first appearance as part of Mackenzie Booth's worrying new health scare storyline.

Upcoming episodes on Channel 5 see Mackenzie get rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack at Salt.

Bree Cameron leads the fight to save Mac's life at Northern Districts Hospital and manages to revive her, but there are no easy answers for why the scare happened.

Levi soon arrives at the hospital asking for Bree and he introduces himself as Doctor Levi Fowler, a cardiothoracic surgeon. He hopes to provide the answers that Mac desperately needs regarding her health.

Dana Matheson reveals that she recognises Levi from their time together at another hospital. She promises Irene Roberts that Mac is in good hands.

Levi suggests exploratory surgery to find out firm details on what's wrong with Mac. Although Mac is nervous, Levi manages to ease her panic with some reassuring words.

Once Mac is out of surgery, Levi is right by her side. He confirms that there was a tear in her artery but he managed to repair it.

Meanwhile, Harper quizzes Dana for more details on her previous connection to Dr Fowler.

Dana explains that Levi worked at her old hospital, St Christopher's. However, she hopes that he doesn't remember her after her controversial departure, which saw her lose her job when she was unfairly framed for drug offences.

Dana suggests that surgeons are far too busy to remember individual nurses, so she's shocked when Levi does recognise her.

Levi reassures Dana that he doesn't care about the gossip surrounding her departure from St Christopher's and says he believes she's doing a great job in her new position at Northern Districts.

With Levi so busy at the hospital, Eden remains oblivious to the fact that her estranged brother is in town ? but for how long?

Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, February 5 and Tuesday, February 6 on Channel 5.

Home and Away has revisited Levi Fowler's failed marriage with talk of a possible divorce.

Levi was challenged by his younger sister Abigail on Australian screens this week as she quizzed him on his personal life.

Viewers saw Levi make the tough decision to end his relationship with his wife Imogen last year after starting a scandalous affair with Mackenzie Booth.

Levi broke Imogen's heart by confessing to his infidelity and admitting that Mackenzie was the one he wanted to be with.

Since then, Levi has moved to Summer Bay and settled into a serious relationship with Mackenzie ? but there's still unfinished business with Imogen which has never been resolved.

In this week's episodes on Australia's Channel 7, Abigail questioned her older brother on whether he ever has contact with Imogen these days.

Levi admitted that they don't speak at all, even though they're now free to get the ball rolling with a divorce as it's a year since they separated.

Abigail was shocked that Levi hadn't been more decisive in resolving the situation sooner, which would give him closure and the chance to make a clean break with Mackenzie.

She asked: "Why aren't you on top of that? The worst thing you can do is drag it out.

"Putting a line through your marriage ? that's what you want, right, so you can be with Mac? And you not doing that, what does that say to her? If you've found the love of your life, why are you still married to Imogen?"

Imogen appeared on Home and Away for a two-month stint last year, played by Georgia Blizzard.

After being dumped by Levi, a heartbroken Imogen sent everything her estranged husband owned to Mackenzie's house ? including her wedding and engagement rings.

The delivery was accompanied by a cutting note addressed to Mackenzie, which said: "Take the rest of my hand-me-downs. You've taken everything else."

After Abigail's home truths, will Levi realise that it's time to get in touch with Imogen again ? and potentially risk her wrath?
