Ross Kemp's new contract with the BBC will allow him to direct dramas such as Casualty and Holby City.

The actor has agreed to return to EastEnders and has signed an initial six-month contract with the soap.

Kemp will also be offered other projects with the BBC, and at least one will be turned into a major new series.

"They've offered me some directing, which I really wanted to do," Kemp explained.

"Then they've said that they will put a couple of drama projects into development for me and at least one of them will go into being a show or series. You don't get better than that."

Well Grant is a great character the only problem is others will get jealous of what Kemp has recieved, Steve McFadden isn't happy apparently but then again when is he?
