this is for people to wirte in ideas of things to do while on holiday (like restaurants, clubs, local attractions) so it gives other people an idea of whats good. it can be from anywhere in the world, but please make sure that in the title of your post you put the name of the place and what country its in

for example:
if you were recommending the london eye, in the title of your post youd write london, england

so, i dont know if its going to work but anyways..............

Wimbleball Lake/Reservoir

It may appear on a map as being boring, but if you have young 'uns its a great place for a picnic, theres a play area for the slightly bigger ones and there are water sports available for all, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, wind surfing etc. Only £1.50 to park for the day and its very quiet as not many know about it, just us locals!! Enjoy

Royan in france. there are some good beaches along that coastline, as well as 2 other fab beaches-
la terriere in la tranche sur mer and plage de la mine just past jard sur mer. trust me, these beaches rule!

Its one of the travellers places in Laos and i would definately recommend it. Not much to chose from in the way of accommodation but a room with shower will set you back anything from £1 to £5!!!! And the beer is cheap at only 16p a bottle!!!!!

There is a nature reserve through one of the hotel gardens at the far end of the village, you go over a iron/rope bridge and into a lagoon, it is absolutely beautiful, the water is crystal clear and you can swim through a cave. Also there is a cave at the top which you can climb up to for some dramatic senery pictures. (cant work out how to post a pic, but beleive me its beautifull!!)

Also in Luang Probang there is a fantastic waterfall that is absolutely breathtaking.

Laos is definately a worth while place to visit, very cheap and not very commercialised. It was the most bombed place during the Vietnam war and is only just recovering.

"Splashdown" (i think its called that anyway lol something along those lines!)

me and my sis went here last year when we were on hols, its got like loads of water slides for all ages. some of the slides are just like normal water slides in pools, others are like vertical drops and other more "scary" ones! and theres a rapid river part where youre on one of those big rubber rings and you get pushed round and down these slides and stuff. its really good and when we went it was quite cheap as well, you could buy a 2hr ticket (which i think was £2) or an allday ticket for £5 so it was good value

"Au Bon Pain" (just up the road from liberty park)

it was like this cafe/deli place, you could make your own sandwiches/rolls/baguettes etc from nearly anything you wanted. it was really nice and quite cheap as well compared to some readymade sandwiches you can buy. and they sold other things too, like homemade soup and pastries and stuff

Staying on the New York side, Century 21 is a great shop for designer goods at very knock down prices. I'd also recommend the Ground Zero (9/11) site - I plan on going back again during my November visit and there is now a permanent memorial there created by the New York City Police Museum.
