MONDAY

EastEnders' Ben Mitchell suffers a distressing breakdown amidst his ongoing battle with bulimia

It's been a very tough past few months for Ben. As well as dealing with the trauma he experienced at the hands of rapist Lewis Butler, he's been left devastated by the tragic death of his friend Lola Pearce-Brown.

Now faced with the responsibility of raising their daughter Lexi, troubled Ben has been secretly struggling with bulimia and punishing himself by exercising excessively.

Ben is also battling against his feelings of inadequacy, which are made worse as the day of the court hearing regarding Jay Brown co-parenting Lexi approaches.

Ben is evasive when Billy Mitchell tries to organise a family get together in The Vic and left fearing he's not enough for his daughter.

Heading to the gym, Ben starts taking his frustrations out on the punch bag until a concerned George Knight intervenes. He advises Ben to put his own feelings to one side and just be there for Lexi.

Jay is relieved and pleased when Ben makes it to the hearing after all, but as the clan head back to Walford to celebrate, Honey Mitchell picks up on Ben's behaviour around food.

Having suffered from an eating disorder herself, Honey recognises the signs at once and follows Ben home. She attempts to get him to open up by sharing her own experience with bulimia, but Ben flips out and orders Honey to leave.

As she walks away, Ben breaks down in tears, consumed with self-loathing and feeling more alone than ever.

Across the Square, Sonia Fowler has zero clue why Reiss Colwell is being off with her, unaware that he discovered a pregnancy test in her bag and now thinks she cheated on him.

Still hurt by Reiss's comments about not wanting to be a dad, Sonia is worried she could already be pregnant.

Back at Number 25, Whitney Dean is there for support as Sonia goes to take a pregnancy test, but is horrified to catch Reiss red-handed trying to hack into his girlfriend's phone.

Later, tensions between Sonia and Reiss come to a head in a blazing row, as the heartbroken nurse concludes Reiss wants kids, but just not with her!

Is it all over between the unlikely couple?

Also, Kat Slater is thrown into panic after hearing Freddie Slater is planning to visit Little Mo to discuss the meeting with his rapist dad, Graham Foster. Before the lad leaves, Kat tells him to remember just how hard his mum fought to protect him from the truth.

And Patrick Trueman gets an unexpected surprise when his former wife Yolande turns up on his doorstep revealing she's been thrown out by her boyfriend and has nowhere to live.

Will Patrick offer his ex a place to stay?

TUESDAY

Whitney Dean drops a devastating baby bombshell on boyfriend Zack Hudson

The Walford couple have been to hell and back this year. Zack's world was shattered when he discovered he was HIV positive and he has faced a huge struggle coming to terms with the diagnosis.

Tragedy struck again when Zack and Whitney learnt their unborn baby had the condition Edward's Syndrome. After being told their daughter wasn't expected to live long after birth, Whitney made the harrowing decision to terminate her pregnancy.

With Zack by her side, Whitney bravely delivered a baby girl, who they officially called Peach, the nickname they'd given her throughout the pregnancy.

Whitney and Zack have slowly begun to rebuild their lives since their loss. Zack recently moved in with his girlfriend and has expressed his desire to try for another baby in the future. But does Whitney feel the same?

The day of Peach's due date arrives and it turns out to be a bittersweet occasion when Zack receives good news from the doctors ? his viral load is now undetectable.

As he and Whitney spend time together at their daughter's tree, Zack shares his results and suggests to Whit they try and conceive again. But while Zack's heart is set on having a family, it's clear his girlfriend is on a completely different page.

Later on, Whitney dashes Zack's hopes and dreams by revealing she can never put her body through another pregnancy and has no desire to try for another baby.

Will their relationship survive this latest obstacle?

Meanwhile, in the wake of her discovery that Ben Mitchell is secretly battling bulimia, Honey advises Callum Highway to talk to his husband.

Ben is furious to see the pair chatting and wrongly jumps to the conclusion that Honey Mitchell has broken his confidence. He lashes out at her, forcing Billy Mitchell and Jay Brown to intervene.

After receiving a ticking off from daughter Lexi, Ben invites Honey out for a coffee to say sorry. She urges him to confide in Callum, which Ben almost does until a heated run-in with dad Phil Mitchell causes him to purge again.

This time, Ben is caught in the act when Callum arrives home early. Deeply concerned for his partner's wellbeing, Callum tries to reach out to Ben, but their confrontation takes an ugly turn...

Yolande Trueman is back on the Square, but Kim Fox wants to know why Patrick isn't fighting to win his glamourous ex-wife back.

After a heart-to-heart with Yolande, Denise Fox begs Patrick to tell Yolande how he really feels before it's too late and she returns to Birmingham and a man she doesn't love.

Also, Reiss Colwell is working overtime to get back into Sonia Fowler's good books after their falling out over having children.

Realising honesty is the probably the best policy, the accountant shocks his girlfriend by revealing the real reason he's always said no to kids.

WEDNESDAY

EastEnders' Ben Mitchell takes his first step on the road to recovery

Phil's son is at rock bottom after husband Callum Highway discovered he's been secretly battling bulimia. Callum tried his hardest to get Ben to open up about his problems, but to no avail.

The morning after the couple's showdown, Ben's in a terrible state. Unable to talk about what's happening to him, the troubled dad heads straight for the Boxing Den to work out all his anger on a punch bag.

Kat Slater is horrified when she arrives at the boxing gym and sees what a mess Ben is in. And it isn't long before she discovers what demons are plaguing him.

Ben starts to open up to Kat and reveals he's still deeply traumatised by the rape he suffered at the hands of evil Lewis Butler.

As a fellow survivor of rape, Kat knows what Ben is going through and is able to offer her perspective. Although sympathetic, Kat warns Ben he'll completely destroy his life and those of the ones he loves unless he seeks professional help.

Knowing she's right, Ben reluctantly agrees to attend a support group, and Kat is there by his side throughout the meeting.

Afterwards, Ben returns home and finds Callum waiting for him. Once again he pleads with his husband to let him in and share what's going on.

Will Ben find the courage to be honest?

Elsewhere, Whitney Dean and Zack Hudson are forced to have a difficult conversation about the future of their relationship.

Zack is keen for them to try for another baby now he's been told by doctors that his viral load for HIV is undetectable. But after suffering the harrowing loss of their baby daughter Peach, Whitney is adamant she can't put her body through another pregnancy.

Can the couple work through their differences, or this the end for them?

Zack and Whitney aren't the only Walford couple with babies on the brain.

Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell also have a heartfelt discussion about whether their future includes them having a child.

What will they decide?

THURSDAY

It could be the end of the road for EastEnders' couple Whitney Dean and Zack Hudson

The pair are at odds over whether to try for another baby. While Zack is keen for them to conceive naturally, Whitney doesn't want to go through another pregnancy after the heartbreaking loss of their baby daughter, Peach.

With their relationship on rocky ground, it looks as if Walford's lovebirds may be heading for Splitsville. Can they find a way to resolve their differences before it's too late?

Knowing what a good team they make, Chelsea Fox urges Whitney to keep talking to Zack about their opposing views so they don't risk losing each other.

Whit takes her best friend's advice and goes to speak to Zack, but it's clear he thinks they can't get past their differing opinions.

Heartbroken by Zack's rejection, Whitney ends up breaking down on Sharon Watts, who offers her a shoulder to cry on.

Seeing Whitney in such distress is upsetting for Sharon and she confronts her brother about his behaviour.

Will her wise words make Zack realise he's risking losing the woman he loves?

Also, it's a big day for Ben Mitchell as he attends an assessment in the first major step to dealing with his troubles.

Ben's life has been spiralling out of control in recent months and his wellbeing is at an all time low. As well as trying to deal with the trauma surrounding his rape ordeal, Ben is consumed by grief over the tragic loss of his friend, Lola Pearce-Brown.

Lola passed away in May after a heroic battle against brain cancer and Ben has been struggling with the responsibility of caring for their daughter, Lexi.

Unable to express his emotions to his loved ones, Ben has been punishing himself by over-exercising and purging on food.

After initially confiding in Kat Slater, Ben has found the courage to take his first steps on the road to recovery.

With Kat by his side for support, Ben attends his assessment. Being in a safe space allows Ben to finally start opening up about the mental anguish he's been experiencing.

The session is a significant step forward for Phil's son, who has previously rejected all offers of help from his family and friends.

Is this the start of a brighter future for Ben?

EastEnders' Zack Hudson and Whitney Dean will find themselves at a crossroads as their baby story is revisited next week.

Heartbreaking scenes earlier in the year saw Whitney have a termination for medical reasons, after discovering that her and Zack's unborn baby daughter had Edwards' Syndrome, and would die before, or shortly after, birth.

Whitney and Zack have since become an official couple but their differing views on their future could threaten to tear them apart.

On Peach's due date, Zack gets good news ? his viral load is now undetectable.

As he and Whitney spend time at their daughter's tree, Zack suggests they could try for another baby.

Whitney breaks Zack's heart when she explains she doesn't want to try for another baby as she can never put her body through that again.

Whitney and Zack later have a difficult conversation about children, and what their future looks like now.

Whitney is left devastated in the aftermath of this but Chelsea encourages her to keep talking to Zack about how she feels so she doesn't lose him.

Whitney takes Chelsea's advice and tries to speak to him, but it's clear Zack thinks they are too far apart on this issue to reach a resolution.

Sharon later finds Whitney in tears. Worried, Sharon confronts Zack about what's going on, but what does the future hold for him and Whitney now?

Ben will find his life spiralling out of control, when Callum gets closer to the truth about what's going on.

Viewers know the show is exploring an eating disorder story with Ben, who has been struggling ever since he was raped by Lewis Butler last year.

Next week's scenes will see Ben struggling with his feelings of inadequacy ahead of Jay's parental hearing. Ben is then evasive when Billy tries to organise a celebration in The Vic that night.

Ben looks certain to miss the court date altogether when he takes his frustrations out on the gym bag until George intervenes. George advises Ben to be there for Lexi, no matter how he feels.

Jay is relieved when Ben makes it after all, but Honey picks up on troubled Ben's behaviour around food later on.

She follows him home and tries to get Ben to open up to her, sharing her own experiences with bulimia.

Unable to share his pain, Ben lashes out and orders Honey to leave. Once Honey has gone, Ben breaks down, feeling completely alone.

Honey advises a worried Callum to try to get Ben to open up to him instead but refuses to break Ben's confidence about what she knows.

However, when Ben sees them together, he thinks Honey is telling Callum about his eating disorder and lashes out, prompting Billy and Jay to step in.

Lexi insists that Ben must apologise to Honey over his treatment of her, and they go for a coffee.

Honey begs Ben to let Callum in and he starts to consider it, until a difficult conversation with Phil provokes Ben into purging again.

Callum arrives home early and catches Ben purging, but when he tries to talk to Ben about what he saw, things go horribly wrong.

Kat is shocked to find Ben in a terrible state afterwards, as he punches a bag at the Boxing Den.

She soon discovers why he's so upset and offers her perspective as a fellow survivor of rape.

Kat warns Ben he'll destroy himself and everyone he loves if he doesn't seek help.

With her words ringing true, Ben reluctantly agrees to attend a support group, with Kat accompanying him.

Ben later returns home to Callum, who begs him to share what's going on.

At the end of the week, Ben and Kat go to the assessment, where he finally starts talking about his mental trauma.
