Last Christmas, the staff of Holby City and Casualty teamed up for an explosive festive episode, and fans will be delighted they're joining forces again on August 27.
The episode is being shown as part of the BBC's Do Nation week, which sees a series of programmes highlighting the issues surrounding transplants.
In a special interactive edition of Casualty, viewers have the final say over which of two very different patients gets the much-needed heart transplant from a recently deceased young man.
Parents Wendy and David (played by Annette Badlan, who featured in BBC drama Cutting It, and The Bill star Hywel Bennett) have the agonising task of deciding whether to allow doctors to take organs from their son, whom they haven't seen in 11 years.
Unbeknown to them, however, two people's lives are hanging in the balance.
Former Brookside star Stephen Pinder stars as Tony, a friend of Lisa's (Luisa Bradshaw-White) father. He stands a better chance of a getting a new heart as he has a common blood group.
Unfortunately, his reluctance to give up smoking could scupper his chances, and when Lisa finds a packet among his possessions, she is forced to lay down the law.
Meanwhile, cystic fibrosis sufferer Lucy (Sarah Bedi) has been on the waiting list for a new heart and lungs for a year.
After collapsing in a pub, she's rushed to Holby City, where she and her parents face an anxious wait.
While the experts do their best to stabilise both patients, it's up to the viewing public to decide whom they think most deserves the vital organ.
