Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian pace episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has confirmed Justin Morgan's sentence following his brutal attack on an innocent man.

Justin lashed out at a stranger in a recent Australian episode as he fell for lies told by his troublesome daughter Ava Gilbert.

As part of her efforts to seek attention from Theo Poulos, obsessed Ava pretended that a man was holding her against her will.

Ava hoped that Theo would come to her rescue, but she was wrong-footed when Justin answered the cry for help and assaulted her alleged "captor".

In Thursday's episode on Channel 7 in Australia (April 13), Justin was called back to court to hear what his fate would be.

Justin had pleaded guilty and accepted that he was wrong to lash out, although he argued the extenuating circumstances of being tricked by Ava.

Alf Stewart had also given evidence in Justin's favour, hoping that his position at the Surf Club would hold some sway.

In the end, the judge told Justin: "On the charge of grievous bodily harm, you are hereby sentenced to an 18-month intensive corrective order ? to be served in the community.

"You are ordered to undertake anger management counselling. You will perform a total of 500 hours of community service. Should you breach this order, you will be arrested and likely serve the duration of this term in prison."

Justin and his loved ones celebrated the news, grateful that he wouldn't have to go to jail.

Amid the positive atmosphere, Theo brought Justin back down to earth by pointing out that 500 hours of community service would be tricky to complete alongside his existing work commitments.

Justin also apologised to Theo and Leah for putting them through this nightmare, acknowledging the toll that recent weeks had taken on them.

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in June.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
