DONATION ON THE BBC
Casualty/Holby City Special –
Something We Can Do
As part of the BBC’s DoNation season, Holby City and Casualty join
forces for a special, interactive episode in which viewers can vote
to determine the outcome of an organ donation storyline. In
Something We Can Do, two patients’ chances of receiving a heart
transplant are threatened by the grieving relatives of the
potential donor.
When a man named Matt dies after being involved in an accident,
his family make the heart-wrenching decision to donate his organs.
Meanwhile, Lucy, who is awaiting a heart-and-lung transplant,
collapses with breathing difficulties. Her condition deteriorates, but
will she get the transplant she needs? Elsewhere, Lisa’s friend,Tony,
desperately needs a heart transplant...
When the voting is over, Harry tells Lisa and Abs that a decision
has been made.
Matt is played by David Alderman, Lucy by Sarah Bedi, Lisa by Luisa
Bradshaw-White,Tony by Steven Pinder, Harry by Simon
MacCorkindale and Abs by James Redmond.
