EastEnders has cast former Emmerdale star Vicki Michelle as an undisclosed character.
The actress, who had a small role as Patricia Foster on the ITV soap, will join Albert Square for a few episodes in the spring. According to The Sun, she will begin filming her scenes later this month, with sources saying her character will ?stir up some drama.?
Michelle also appeared as Yvette Carte-Blanche in the long-running sitcom ?Allo ?Allo!, with her other television work including a stint on I?m a Celebrity? Get Me Out of Here!.
Whilst her role in EastEnders is currently unknown, there are multiple possibilities for her character to get involved given the plethora of storylines.
One such arc sees Zack Hudson and Whitney Dean react to the news that they are expecting a baby, a fact further complicated by the former?s HIV diagnosis and news that the child will have Edwards? Syndrome.
Shona McGarty recently spoke about the scenes involving her character and Zack, revealing that fans held doubts about their compatibility.
?Viewers weren?t that keen on them at first, and I don?t think they?re invested yet because they haven?t seen what we've done,? she told TV Times. ?As a viewer and a fan, I hope they could bond over this, but tragedy can also pull you apart. I think it is [the toughest storyline] I?ve filmed.
?There?s the fear of not doing it justice,? she said of the new plot developments. ?I don?t want women who have had this experience to watch it and say, 'Well, that's not right.' I really think the writing has been so accurate that it will be okay.
?But obviously this is Whitney's story, and so all of her emotional past experiences up until this point will feed into her reaction. It's going to be hard for viewers to watch,? she concluded.
The storyline has been written in collaboration with SOFT UK and Antenatal Results and Choices, with the aim being to ?accurately reflect and raise awareness of Edwards' syndrome.?
