Coronation Street has cast former Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road actor Andrew Still in a recurring guest role.

Andrew played the original Joel Dexter on Hollyoaks between 2011 and 2013 before Rory Douglas-Speed took over the role in 2016.

Only a few details about Still's Corrie character have been revealed so far. His name is Justin, and viewers will first see him on the cobbles later this week.

After exiting Hollyoaks, Andrew starred as Scott Fairchild on Waterloo Road in 2015. Following his stint on the BBC drama, he took a break from acting.

Andrew recently spoke about his time away from the screen, telling the Daily Record: "After I came out of Hollyoaks, I had one of those periods where you are not sure where you are going.

"You know they talk about 90 percent of actors being out of work ? well, I had the out-of-work experience. I had a year solid of getting nothing."

"Those kind of periods make you doubt yourself. It was a pretty rotten period, but it teaches you a lot about yourself," he added.

"I am not a big a fan of the glitz and glamour. I just want to settle down and work.

"So you come out of a show like Hollyoaks and you don?t have the job but you have all the other stuff ? you are still walking about the street and getting noticed."

Andrew made his acting comeback in the 2021 film Nobody Has to Know, starring Game of Thrones alum Michelle Fairley.

He then landed a leading role as Rory Dashford on the new Scottish drama series Granite Harbour, which landed on BBC and BBC iPlayer last week.

Coronation Street has confirmed that former Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road star Andrew Still is playing Daisy Midgeley's stalker.

The actor made a brief cameo appearance in the show last month, portraying a man who spoke to Daisy in the waiting room of the local hospital.

In recent days, Daisy has been receiving unwanted flowers from someone called Justin. She currently believes that the sender is a DJ she recently flirted with.

Later this week, the DJ clarifies to Daisy that he is not responsible. Daisy then feels helpless as she realises that she has no idea who Justin is.

Next week, Daisy gets upset when Jenny Connor reveals that yet another bouquet of flowers has arrived at The Rovers.

Daisy's phone then rings with an unknown number, leaving her unnerved.

As Daisy speculates over who could be responsible, Justin arrives and explains that they met at the hospital weeks ago.

Justin asks Daisy whether she liked the flowers, but he denies calling her. Daisy doesn't know what to believe.

Later in the week, Daisy receives a box of chocolates along with a note, which reads: "Sorry!"

Justin quickly approaches and admits that he sent the gift, much to Daisy's dismay.

Daisy's mum Christina, who's paying a visit to Weatherfield, unhelpfully claims that she should be flattered by the attention. Will Daisy receive better support from her other loved ones?

Corrie's producer Iain MacLeod recently commented: "[Daisy and Daniel's] next story is about a young woman on the internet and dangers that face influencers who have a high profile.

"In Daisy's case, she has quite a small fry online following, but that brings her into a certain degree of danger as the wedding approaches."

Andrew Still is best known to soap fans for playing the original Joel Dexter on Hollyoaks between 2011 and 2013. He also played Scott Fairchild in Waterloo Road.

Most recently, Andrew portrayed Rory Dashford in Granite Harbour.
