EastEnders is bringing back Jada Lennox as part of the show's Christmas episodes.

Brand new pictures show Sharon turning up at the Carter family's Christmas meal, with Jada in tow.

Kelsey Calladine-Smith has reprised her role as Jada, who departed Walford under a cloud back in August, having made a dangerous alliance with Janine.

Janine blackmailed Jada into planting evidence that nearly cost Linda custody of baby Annie.

Jada subsequently confessed to Sharon what she'd done, leaving them both in a difficult situation since social services had already temporarily placed Annie into foster care.

Despite coming clean, Jada didn't tell Sharon who was actually behind her out-of-character actions, meaning Janine got away with her devious scheming once again.

Upcoming scenes will see Linda be furious when she hears from Zack that Jada has offered bring Alyssa to Sharon's for Christmas Day.

With Linda clearly unhappy, Zack reminds her of how much Sharon misses her granddaughter.

Given the bad blood between her and Jada, Linda angrily says she'll make herself scarce.

As Christmas Day arrives, Jada turns up in Walford as planned, and drops a bombshell on Sharon, Martin, and Zack.

Horrified, Sharon knows what she has to do and they are soon making their way over to the Carters, but what will happen when they get there?

That remains to be seen, with Janine's story set to implode over the festive season, it's seeming like Jada's return could play a part in that as well.

It was announced back in June that Kelsey would be one of several cast members written out of the soap, alongside Ricky Champ (Stuart Highway), Dayle Hudson (Peter Beale) and Barbara Smith (Dana Monroe).

Christmas Day arrives on the Square and Shirley is still determined to expose Janine's deception. Janine also has to worry about Jada, who returns to the Square for Christmas with Sharon. Janine tries to stay in control of the situation by inviting Shirley and Linda to Christmas lunch.

Jada drops a bombshell on Sharon, Martin and Zack following her return to Walford ? and Sharon knows what she has to do afterwards.

Shirley makes accusations against Janine during Christmas dinner at The Vic, but Janine denies them. When Scarlett walks in, will she reveal what she knows about her mother?

Whatever happens, it's not long before secrets and lies are exposed at the pub and Mick's world begins to crumble around him. As he faces some home truths, will he fight for Linda and see what Janine is capable of?

The only thing for certain is that Christmas Day will be Mick's last day in Walford.

Meanwhile, Alfie's plans to dress as Santa and abseil from the roof of the Mitchell house go wrong when he gets stuck. Bert informs Phil that Kat had told Alfie he could stay until New Year. This isn't the only revelation for Phil, who starts to find out what went on when he was away.

Elsewhere, Jay proposes to Lola on Christmas Day, but will she accept?

Also today, the Fox-Brannings must rely on the mercy of the Mitchells when Kim destroys Christmas dinner.

As news continues to spread about what was happened, the community is left stunned.

Meanwhile, Kat is confused as Phil has gone AWOL. Sam is shocked by the sight that awaits her when she finds Phil in the dark at the club, but she steps in by encouraging Phil to give Kat another chance. She also gives Kat a warning about loyalty towards Phil.

Kat admits to Phil that she mouthed off about what's going on in the family and people might have overheard. Has this risked Phil's big plan?

Elsewhere, Sam doesn't want Phil to find out what she got up to in Spain.
