Another addition to the EastEnders cast is actor Matt Di Angelo, who will be joining the show in December as Pat Evans' nephew Deano Wicks.
He joins the show in December - the same month that old face Frank Butcher makes a return to Walford.
An EastEnders insider said: "Deano is a cocky, charismatic young lad who expects to take the world by storm.
"He has an eye for the ladies and doesn't see anyone as out of his league.
"It's the pursuit of these women that more often than not will land him in a bit of trouble."
Di Angelo said: "I can't wait to join EastEnders to play Deano.
"He's a combination of a young Alfie Moon and Del Boy.
"He rates himself quite highly too so he's going to have lots of fun in the Square."

I think this sounds OK but we have very little go on so far. Obviously it will give the wonderful Pat more screentime which is a bonus in itself :)

I'm not sure he is totty looking at his picture though. He looks a bit on the young side for me I think the actor is in his teens! I'm not a "cradle-snatcher" lol :D

If he's Pat's nephew - won't he be her sister/brother's kid, not one of her sons, cos then he'd be her grandson.
Anyway, from the picture he is kinda thudable, so I'm all for it -- just hope he has a personality to go with it.
We do need some more people in the twenties and a few more middle aged people. I think the old people group is also lacking a bit but we do have the new team of Big Mo, Pat, Yolande and Pauline. I think Dot and nana Moon should join that group and have a laugh! Nana deserves to have a laugh seeing as how she's going to suffer off this mortal coil soon!!! Mind you I doubt they could revamp the cast that much :) You have to do it slowly and I doubt we'd accept a large influx of new characters that would be like 'Hollyoaks' :)

Maybe Jimmy fathered him before he died depending on when Jimmy did die? If it was less than 18 years ago then it's possible although we don't know how old the character is! An interesting thing to note is he's called "Deano Wicks" so he must have the surname "Wicks" for a reason? :searchme: This leads me to believe he's perhaps not Jimmy's son and more to do with the Wicks side of the family obviously.

There do seem to be quite a lot of new characters, or old characters coming back - but then I suppose quite a few are leaving. Hopefully next year we'll have some more stability though.

It needs to go back to being stable this has been part of the problem too many people leaving etc. I think new blood is important but you have to have that sense of who everybody is already and how they react to the new blood.
I think we're onto something with Pat's ex. Like you say, if the surname is Wicks it must be on those lines...
He is Brian Wicks's blood nephew.

Pat isn't married to Brian Wicks though and wasn't when he died. I don't see any reason why they would have anything to do with eachother (Pat and this nephew) they probably don't even know eachother the nephew is only young unless Pat has been seeing this nephew off-screen and still considers him to be her nephew :searchme:
It's plausible I suppose but Pat has enough on her hands taking in all these waifs and strays and running a soup kitchen!

He'll probably be in it for a while! I don't care because he'll be giving Pat a new sense of direction :) I love Pat and believe she hasn't been used to her full potential without any proper family. Tina & Billy were a nice attempt to give her some more people to interact with but I think she needs some proper family maybe a few more can turn up out of the blue? It would be good to see her cooking for all the kids again in the morning whilst they sit round the table in their school uniforms!
Pat needs some juicy storylines again - she only seems to sit in the Bookies and she could certainly do a lot more
She needs some family again that's why this is good to hear I hope they bring back another 2 and let her become a kind of mother to them all :)

Well, i think New charcters are better than old ones, but it seems at the moment EE is Gettoing loads of New/old Charcters in/back because all the others are leaving, i mean i don't see reason for more characters, they find it hard to include everyone in it now anyway!

Half the time new characters don't even work and they axe them, and decide to bring back old ones. Although this guy looks cute so could be interesting to see how he does in EE

Not everybody can be used at once though :)

That would make him Pats grandson...not nephew as reported, so he can't be Davids or simons son.

The most recent yet classic case of this is the story in 'Corrie' with Mike Baldwin at the moment. Apparently his brother has died yet Mike has always maintained he's an only child the common excuse they're using is there was a family feud they didn't get on etc *yawn*

Lol, I can't argue with that.
I think it's going to bring some much needed life into Pat :D She's had very little to do or limited possibilities since Roy died she'll always have a purpose in the show but she did work best with a family.

And Frank and Peggy should be another interesting chat considering he got her into debt and forced her to sell the Vic which Sharon ended up buying along with Steve Owen. Although to be fair Peggy didn't know who she was selling to and did need a quick sale if she had known about it she would have hung onto the pub regardless :)
I know Peggy has already confronted Frank about it in Spain but it will be interesting how she copes with him back on the Square.

No, I think she had Viv (Slater mother) before she married Jimmy...or after...whatever it is, the family tree has Stuart Mullins as Viv's father and Mo never married him.
