i think bt charge you for three months line rental and your calls, thats certanly what they seem to be doing with us on our package, others might be different though
they didn't say BT.. so it could have been any phone company

No matter what Phone service they are with, you could still recieve incoming calls, you cant make calls out but Peter would have been able to contact Darren because you can receive calls even if your phone bill hasn't been paid.Im pretty sure anyway. Not sure whether it was BT though

noticed a sky box wen they wer lookin at wer the tv had gone, som1 else has mentioned this on another thread but how can they keep sky if they are so lo on money?
with sky you have to sign a contract for a min of 12 months therefore the millers would be tied to this contract even if they no longer have a T.V

BT can and will cut the phone line of completly if the bill is not payed and only reconnect once all arrears are cleared plus administration charges are payed.
so peter would not have been able to get through
Surely they could have phoned the telephone company and made an arrangement to pay the bill weekly or monthly, you get a few reminders before you're actually disconnected.
