After his eviction last night, the press grilled Derek on his BB experience. From Kinga's boobs to Orlaith's walkout to Craig and Anthony's relationship, the Tory was as candid as ever...

What a rotten birthday present being out...

It's the best present ever. I didn't expect to be there that long. I'm delighted to be on the other side of the prison wall, I'm reconnected with freedom and I'm going to make the most of it.

Which Housemates did you find most loathsome?

On balance, everybody had good qualities and I don't want to demonise anybody. I didn't have a good relationship with Orlaith but it was probably more my fault. I should have spent more time talking to her and trying to understand her.

How difficult was the age gap with the younger people?

I felt this gap widening and widening at moments when there were things that they would laugh at that I wouldn't find funny, things that they would become excited about that never occurred to me to be exciting, things they didn't know.

I saw it as an opportunity to connect with young people from different walks of life and I would never have come across most of them, so it's an experience that I will always remember for being a good thing. To find ways to connect with younger people and their issues and their interests and so on - it's the thing that most bloody politicians should do.

Could you be the next Tory leader?

What a stupid idea!

What do you think of Craig and Anthony's relationship? Is Craig possessive of Anthony?

Well oddly enough I think it's slightly the other way round. I think it's Anthony that can't live without Craig. He cannot be out of touching distance of Craig, he follows Craig around the place not the other way round.

Derek tastes freedom

Maxwell said you used to like patting him on the bottom. Did you fancy him?

No, not at all. I don't ever remember patting him on the bottom either. It's perhaps something I should have done when he was extremely naughty. And if he really wants me to I'll see him next week!

Did you fancy Roberto?

No I didn't. He's very, very handsome but he's one of those people that didn't have much in the way of sex appeal. You didn't really feel as though he'd throw you around.

If your life depended on it, who would you rather snog - Tony Blair or Science?

Science! He'll be horrified.

What did Kinga's breasts feel like?

It was the best pillow I'd ever put my head on. It was bouncy.

When Orlaith left she said it was because she was scared of you. Do you think that was warranted?

She was histrionic, next question.

You've backed Eugene. Why?

He's clearly very eccentric and barmy, but much more importantly than that I think that he's a very honourable man and I think he could be a very good role model for the young. He exudes decency and kindness and he's not in it for himself - I think that matters a lot.

What three things are you most looking forward to doing now you are out?

Quaffing fine wine, going to Le Caprice, if they'll have me, and sleeping a lot.

Derek then gave his thoughts on each of the Housemates:

Orlaith Who is Orlaith? She wasn't suited for the House. She wasn't tough enough.

Craig In need of much emotional support in every possible way.

Makosi I've seen four faces, I'm sure another two must exist. She's much suited to the stage! A career as a budding actress awaits, she won't be short of offers.

Anthony He's a nice sort of chap who doesn't mean any harm to anybody, but not the sort of person you'd invite to lunch.

Kinga She's marvellous and has spectacular boobs.

Eugene Intelligent, sensitive, kind, decent, honourable, he's a winner in my book! Or ought to be.

Kemal Wonderful, exotic, charming, clever, bright, brave - extremely brave to come out in that way on the screens of the nation. I hope a lot of good lies ahead for him.

Vanessa I didn't get the opportunity to speak to her a great deal as she was sleeping most of the time. I hope whatever she does there's a sleeping part in it for her.

Maxwell Loud, abrasive, funny, but nothing out of the ordinary or what you wouldn't find in the Fox and Hound on the Hackney Road.

Saskia Rather dull girl really. Very aspirational and I hope her dreams may come true.

Roberto He's a darling isn't he. A good man wanting the best for himself and others too.

Sam I'd forgotten she was there.

Lesley She's terrific, absolutely the sort of girl I like, tells it as it is. She's blunt, she's courageous and she'll be a fantastic mother. Hope she does very well from this too.

Mary She had a walk on part didn't she. And she wasn't a witch. I've met more witches in politics!
