View Full Version : EastEnders has been axed

Treacle

On BBC3 that is they've decided to show some more drama in the 10pm slot rather than repeats of 'EastEnders'.

I always watched the original showing anyways but I do realise the BBC3 repeat was useful for a lot of people.

I always watch it at 10 on tuesdays and thursdays, becaue i'm out on those days!
I'll have to tape it now, but it was much easier just watching the repeat because i never get round to watching stuff i've taped!

I liked Brookie! It's a shame it was axed.

i think it may be a good thing cos ee have been losing out to corrie since they started the repeats, and people don't care if they miss an episode cos they can catch it at 10,once the repeats stop well it might help ee ratings to increase

Yeah, thats what I often think - it'll be a bit annoying if they stop showing the repeats at 10 but I can see why they are doing it - it could make a difference with the ratings!

Its a shame but I agree that it could be good for the show in the long run.

Jade
06-08-2005, 18:22
it could also go the other way and people may stop watching it all together if they cant see the later episode. Obviously true fans wont.

***Virgo***
06-08-2005, 18:33
No they wouldn't but its really annoying!

CrazyLea
06-08-2005, 18:54
aw well i watch it at 7:30 (or 8) so this dont really bother me

Treacle
06-08-2005, 20:41
it could also go the other way and people may stop watching it all together if they cant see the later episode. Obviously true fans wont.Well that won't affect the usual viewers the normal showing gets because it just means those who watched BBC3 won't be watching it atall if they don't watch the normal showing :)

Treacle
06-08-2005, 20:41
And as a matter of interest the repeats have had quite good ratings for a while now :)

JustJodi
06-08-2005, 20:45
I guess the repeats would be good for people who work odd shifts or hours ??? We can not get BBC 3 any way so for that I am relieved.. I watch it when it is ON,, not as a repeat

We can get BBC1 AND BBC2 for 45 euros a month ( approx 30 pounds ) the rest of the channels we get are all Dutch German and Flemish  BBC1 and BBC2 are the only ones that show ENGLISH SUBTITLES :cheer:

slippery slope

Treacle
07-08-2005, 00:38
slippery slopeThat's not why they decided to stop showing it! It's because they want to make way for other drama and there's a million and one interesting things that could fill the 10pm slot. 'EastEnders' was only ever supposed to be on BBC3 on a temporary contract.

Treacle
07-08-2005, 00:39
