Derek has crushed the House's underwater breath-holding record this morning.
To Eugene's amazement the Tory managed to stay submerged for a full three minutes before gasping for air.
Putting on his best sports commentator voice, Eugene announced, "Smashing the previous record of two minutes forty-four, and completely destroying the record of Eugene, two minutes thirty seconds, now the world champion of underwater breath-holding competition, the winner is Derek Laud!"

"How do you feel about your success?" Eugene asked the victor.
"Elevated, absolutely elevated," wheezed Derek.
"Has the whole experience left you breathless?" chuckled cheeky Eugene.
Panting slightly, Derek confirmed, "It certainly has, but I think oxygen is on its way."
The Tory revelled in his sporting achievement and felt it was surely one of his greatest moments in the House. Thinking of his potential eviction, Derek requested, "Cut that please for this evening's best moments!"
You never know Derek, you might still have time to beat your record yet.
