Internet will only work in safe mode? HELP

I have no idea what is wrong with my comp, the other day it was running so slow i couldnt access anything, i managed to get it working again but it stopped letting me access the internet. Now the only way that i can access the internet is putting my computer into safe mode, does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem can be?

Would the computer not close down after sometime if the firewall wasn't working?

The fact that it works in safe mode implies that something has hijacked your computer. I suggest running ms spyware, adaware, virus scan etc.

try running spyware if you have apropos there is nothing you can do to get rid of it we had it we done everything to get rid of it but it wouldn't go so in the end we had to get a new pc and throw the old one out. :mad:
We keep a firewall and spyware on this pc now

i always have. school pcs have 100,000 viruses because there isnt any protection

Hi guys im back, turns out i had a major virus on my computer it ended up shutting the whole thing down, fortunately my mum has a friend who deals with comps and he had to un-install everything then re-install it all so i had lost everything on my comp! I managed to burn all my photos though which is a good thing!
