ITV has axed Saturday evening show Rock Around the Block, hosted by DJ Neil Fox, after disappointing ratings.
The show, which turns two families into pop stars for a karaoke finale, had an audience of 2.1 million on Saturday - 12% of the total audience at that time.
The last instalment will be shown this week. Two more episodes have been filmed but will not be screened.
ITV said it was a "highly competitive slot and the show did not deliver the size of audience we hoped to attract".
Poor reviews
Rock Around the Block was launched on 16 July to an audience of 1.8 million and unfavourable reviews from national TV critics.
The Sun called it a " budget-free affront to humanity", while the Sunday Telegraph predicted the show would "have a job sustaining a long run".
The programme will be replaced by a repeat of the bloopers show It Shouldn't Happen To... from 13 August. Rock Around the Block was the latest in a series of ratings disasters for the commercial channel. Celebrity Wrestling, The Real Good Life and Fat Families were all moved from their slots after failing to find an audience.
